if i may ask a very blunt question here...
is there any real point 2 this thread? granted i like the discussion & all. but if it's not going 2 lead into anything. why bother 2 have it?
interesting enough, i haven't seen i:w being brought by any guest/non-members here. PWN's been brought up a lot. APW was name dropped. VWE, XWA. Only mentioning is from the fed owner karl. i find that 2 be funny considering this is the place where the topic of e-feds is being discussed.

You know Gen, there are times where I think you may need a filter. Not trying to bust your balls, nor do I take it as a personal jab, I just don't see how that third paragraph brought anything useful to the discussion, so it was probably not needed to be stated. I mean people aren't necessarily going to mention I:W because that is where the discussion is held. I:W's participation in bringing the feds together in one way or another is already implied. Oz references PWN/XWA because he is admittedly not up-to-date on I:W goings-on. Showtime references things he did with OWN/APW because he's suggesting ways to bring things together, or ways to improve in general. VWE is getting mentioned because back then is the time period where most of us were together, and that is the sentiment that is being expressed here: we want to find ways to come back together.
Now in terms of 'is it worth it', why have the discussion if it's not going to lead anywhere... well, that's why the discussion is happening. I mean there's clearly member support for it. I myself have long been a supporter of inter-fed mingling (TNB/XWA co-message boards setup in 2007), co-recognized traveling title belts (WCW:TNB/LXW PRO & TNB/XWA King Of Crimson titles), and other examples. More recently I've been supporting more people coming together as a Universal Fed, because I believe that 2010 and 2011 showed us that for the most part, splitting off into splitered efeds doesn't work (CWE, SCW, APW, VWE, XWA season 3 etc). The time for us all living in our own bubbles is over. As Oz rightly put it, CAW efedding (especially on games) is under threat, not only from wrestling fans transitioning into MMA fans, but also it becoming easier to produce 'CAW Shows' now.
It's up to members to let go of any old drama that might be there and embrace working with anyone else. But at the same time I would say that the bigger barrier nowerdays is that it's also up admins to come together in order allow for the best chance of that happening. It's not fair for members who want to RP with everyone (I'll use Sylas Styles as an example), to have to split their time between 3-4 feds in order to do it.
I've asked for a Universal Fed covering 360+PS3. I have no problems matching A.I. Slider/Match Settings from PWN, for example, to make this happen. I have no problem if I do not play Lionheart as the week-to-week authority figure character either. But the ball, as far as coming together is placed squarely in other admins' and the collective members' courts.

I for one haven't had the chance to work with everyone and would love to do so. this could make that happen. I could see this leading to a great new efed age.
their are so many different types of guys out there to add into the mix.

I agree, my main objective when I finally broke down and joined up in the RP world was just to see if I could hang with the legends of those feds, not just match wise but RP wise ya know. I was never about titles, if I got one it was from shear luck if it did happen lol.
I seen everyone having fun storytelling with their caws, even the shittiest RP's they were still having fun.. Well most times, before that nasty curse called drama interjected herself into the middle of most of these sites which of course turns everyone off that wants to just post without fear..
I am still intrigued on the whole universal title belt idea which may be the easiest idea to get off the ground..
With all these feds under one umbrella, even thou a great idea..Could be confusing as frak with so much going on at once..

To follow up on what Karl said to Brandon...I do think it is worth it. Very worth it. I recognize that as far as our "medium" of E-Wrestling is pretty much in it's "Genesis" (No pun intended). I say 5 more years tops before many of us step away from it completely, namely because most of us are in out late 20s-early/mid 30s now, and we have adult lives away from the net. In a nutshell, we're not kids anymore. Hell, I was 25 when I 1st got into E-Feds, and I'm 32 now. That's a LONG time to be doing one hobby. And while I'll be a gamer well into my hayday (I always say that I'll play video games until I can't hold a controller anymore), but as far as E-Feds go, I say I've got a good 5 or so years left before I call it a "career".
So the idea of creating an environment where all characters can exist in one continuity hold merit to me because we're not going to be doing this forever. And there are match ups we've yet to see and characters that would do excellent with and against each other that I'd love to see happen before the curtain finally falls. But again, that falls on people putting their egos in check. Already one such person who will go unnamed voiced a negative opinion on the NWWA (Neo World Wrestling Alliance) that I and others put forth to do exactly that, join all characters affiliated into one continuity elsewhere. And rather then confronting me about it, and people mentioning it in their posts, they went to the admin of said place and complained. That's exactly the mentality that's held our spectrum of E-Wrestling back, people being threatened when "more popular/well name" character show up because a Fed is trying to expand it's roster with star power. Chances are that person is a member here as well. I know they're not a member of PWN, cuz if they were...I'dve gotten rid of them a long time ago with such an attitude. But that withstanding, I'm willing to do whatever it takes ON TOP of keeping PWN going to get this idea, and that's all it is at this stage, an idea...started into something meaningful. If the ignorant people still choose to be ignorant, let 'em. At this point it's not about them. It's about all of the people who want to do it right. If people are willing to step up and make it a reality, I'm more then happy to lead the charge.

Probably best to lock this thread whilst there is progress made in it, before it gets out of control. Great discussion guys, there were some good points raised, and the doors have 'really' been opened in a realistic way for discussions about inter-working between efeds in a meaningful way which is more than they were in the past.
