So, without having any drama flaring up, what do you guys truly believe needs to happen in today's efedding, so that we end-up in an improved environment with more handlers present and that we can all enjoy? - Do we need to mentally and physically move-on from our current crop of characters (and any good or bad feelings they may bring with them); start completely fresh from the ground up so that everyone is equal, with a "don't ask/don't tell" policy in regards to whom controls whom?
- Do we similarly need to let go of our current or former efeds, and the long IC/OOC history that they have baked-in (sometimes good and sometimes bad); all come together to forge one cohesive efed with standardized rules and settings so that everyone can simply get back to RPing with everyone else without worrying about old b.s.?
- Do owners/staff need to invest in items which would live-stream events and remove question of "match rigging", which has cast a long shadow over the past? Or is this not a necessity, and we can learn to move past this knee-jerk suspicion, for example if we were already using fresh characters in a fresh efed? Right now I'm just asking questions. I don't have all the answers, but one way or another, I want to see if there's a way to move forward as a collective group and improve things for everyone; even if it means attempting to break-down barriers which are preventing us from being more like our past - where there were a lot more of us together in one place, which I believe made for more creativity. Don't be afraid to give your opinions, but at the same time let's not degenerate into insults or anything like that. I'm seeking an open and objective discussion.

to the point, people need 2 drop the past and move forward. also, break away from the kliq system. when u turn an efed into a ¨us vs. them¨ scenario. its the stake thru the heart of any league.
more importantly then anything i got 2 say. just have FUN! don't let ur ego spoil everything.

If I may be so bold to chime in, I think the future of E-Wrestling is pretty much the same as real life wrestling...which in fact as any here who've browsed or are a member of my own fed...know not only we try to do but I ENCOURAGE everyone to do...is break down the barriers that have long since existed between feds. Hell, that's the premise that my operation Pro Wrestling Neo was built on. We embrace the history of every character on our roster, because it's the history of the characters that MAKE the characters. You put the work in to make your character a house hold name in E-Wrestling, why the hell shouldn't you be allowed to use their past to help their present and future?
Just look at WWE. 8 years ago they could care less about what else was happening in the industry outside of their "island". Nowadays for example...when talking about CM Punk and Daniel Brian, they mention WEEKLY that both men "grew up" in the industry together in the independent circuit. 8 Years ago a guy would get fired for even mentioning the indies in WWE. Now they're using it as a tool to pretty much validate the overall skill set that Punk and Brian have. That my friends is progression. Breaking down the barrier. And that's what E-Wrestling needs to start doing if it's going to survive.
I make no bones about it, E-Wrestling is a dieing art. With the boom in CAW Shows and social media at the ready, people are more inclined to take their own characters, make their own shows and post them to Youtube, Dailymotion or any other social media site without ever having to co-mingle with others creatively. The demand to be in an E-Fed to get your characters noticed is a lot smaller then it was years ago. If you're on Youtube and a CAW creator, you know who guys like Donquis, SDSmith and Goldash are, because they used Youtube as their engine for recognition, not and E-Fed. Whereas someone like myself has gain my recognition through E-Feds and CAWS.ws. Year after year, the grid of E-Feds grows smaller and smaller, because it's so much easier to run your own show. No headaches. No arguing. No hassles. That's why I believe it's imperative for the feds that remain to start acknowledging each other...because in five years none of them may even exist anymore.
I use my fed as an example. We pay homage to the idea that many of our characters have existed and come from different other feds. Be it XWA, VWE, The old TNB, APW, VCW, etc. Hell, one of our titles, the No-Limits Title has lineage to the King Of Crimson Title created in XWA, which has lineage to the old TNB Hardcore title. So yes, we completely acknowledge the roots of where we are to where we've come from. And we encourage all members to do the same if the need arises. But there's a difference between bringing up your past as a development tool and grandstanding on past merits. That we frown upon, and thankfully our member base have been around long enough in E-Wrestling to know that's one of the biggest no-no's there is. So yes, you'll see a lot of characters bringing up things that have happened to them or other characters in other feds in the past, but ALWAYS to further the story they're telling, never to make themselves look good or make someone else look bad.
It's no longer a competition in my eyes. I admit in the past it was. Back 6 years ago I wanted to crush every fed that popped up. But as I've gotten older, and been an admin in various feds, I realize that the WORST thing to happen is to be the "only game in town". When there's no competition, there's complacency. Complacency in any sense is a bad thing. But in a social medium that's driven by user created content like and E-Fed, it can be as cancerous as the asshole member who wants everything done his way. That again falls back to the breaking barriers idea. Because when there's no barrier between two feds, there's usually no hostility. You can even use each other to become better. I'm doing that exact thing witha fed Vault and Remedy are running. I'm simply a member there, I have no mod responsibilities at all, but regardless I funnel them ideas and insights on how to make the place better because
A. I have the experience and track record of running E-Feds enough to know what works and what doesn't.
B. I want the place to succeed, because it's idea and concept is one I personally believe can work with the right pieces put in place.
In the old days, no one would even care to help another fed out like that. They'd join, yes...but only to boost their own rep. We're ALL guilty of doing that in the past. And if you say you're not, you're lying outta' your teeth. But in this day and age, I'd rather see a fledgling E-Fed survive and be successful rather the fall to the wayside. Because you never know where the next break out characters will come from. Who knew 6 years ago that a plain jane character like Ashley Diamond would become the benchmark of excellence is what an E-Fed character should be? (But that's another topic I might get into on my own forum sometime.)
In summary, opening the invisible portals that have kept many of our feds in separate dimensions and bringing them into one, fluid continuity is the way we take E-Wrestling as a whole into the next chapter. Hell, Goldash007 and URWL is now affiliated with RatedKaze's VWA, who now shares space on the URWL forum. If a pair of CAW show producers can do it, why can't E-Feds? They don't need to cross over or intermix talents. Just simple acknowledging that other "organizations" exist in a positive, creative and constructive manner is enough. From there, who knows what other good can be done. Trust me, anyone whose spoken to me on the subject knows that I'm all about taking this hobby we've all been doing for the better part of the last 7 years, some of us even longer...and making it better then it now. The glory days are gone, that much is definite. There's no way to repeat the days of old. But we don't need to when the future of E-Wrestling is right in front of us, and ours to shape into something great.

Question is. Can everyone put there ego's, and past differences aside to make ^that^ all happen?
For me personally. I don't have a problem with anyone at all. Granted, I know at times I may agree to disagree with people. But, I don't hate anyone for those disagreements or arguments. Me and Karl fight like brothers one day. Than say "Hey what's up? How's it going'?" the next day like nothing never happened. lol. So there's one example there.
Today, more than I ever was years back. I'm more flexible with everything. I used to be a 'my way, or the highway' type. Now I'm more laid back and open minded to ideas than what I used to be. Which comes with both growing up, maturing and getting older/wiser (started at age 19 about 7-8 years ago), to now being 27. Add to that. Overall e-fed experience, and being on both sides of the spectrum. As a staff member, Administrator and as a member respectively. I've learned alot, and picked up on alot.
Bottom line. I believe there will never be a day where everyone is under ONE umbrella. I don't believe we will all ever work under one "e-fed" or one single "league". Cause again, that goes back to that mentality of being the 'only league in town', as Oz mentioned.
However... I think that if we can let old grudges go and just leave the past behind us. In an effort to bring new life back into this hobby. Maybe we could, as individual leagues, work together for a common purpose?

This part bugs me a bit. Mostly because I believe the mentioning of other characters that exist in one e-federation, but don't in the other should seldom be done. Take the WWA for example, it's a brand new e-fed with a brand new cast of characters. You shouldn't need to fall back on past rivalries and characters from other e-federations to help put them over. Recently, I believe it was the Ashley Diamond character, named-dropped characters she had worked with in other e-federations, and in the process it felt like she was putting down the talent that existed within the WWA.
I realize that they were mentioned in order to further the story between Whisper, Kurush, Diamond and Synergi, but I believe you could still tell that particular story without having to resort to name-dropping people the "developed" character has worked with. Why couldn't talent like Emma Fria, Kwan Park, Mikuro On, and Prysm Ray be the "NOW" of women's wrestling in an e-fed which is based around the idea of an all-women's e-federation. It just felt that by name-dropping talent from another e-fed and describing them as the "NOW," put down the current WWA roster as a whole, especially characters who had been in the e-fed since the beginning, like Emma Fria and Mikuro On. Maybe that wasn't their intention, I don't want to feel like I'm pointing fingers of blame anywhere, but it just felt really negative. Like the rest of the talent pool wasn't good enough. I do like the storyline though, I've been reading it along with everything else that happens within the e-fed, but I just think you could tell that particular story without having to name talent from elsewhere.
That's it really though. I liked everything else you mentioned.

Right now I find things at an interesting cross roads. We've always embraced character/efed/title belt history, whereas most places have typically had a 'it didn't happen here, it doesn't mean shit' mentality. But now I find myself thinking perhaps that fresh characters with a don't ask/don't tell policy as to whom controls them may just open-up people to working with everyone again, because every character would start-out on the same level again. Whereas right now we have certain characters we gravitate towards for doing storylines with, or roleplayers we may shy away from working with a particular person for whatever reason. Whilst IC history should be respected, sometimes OOC history can do more harm than good, and WCW/TNB/IW has it's fair share of that too. I can't even begin to imagine what the place would look like in terms of rules/title belts/roster participants if PWNeo was still XWA or was still LXW, after-all.
Of course there are those who love their current characters, and perhaps even love their already semi-retired characters and would like to bring them back into play. This is why I was thinking perhaps of having a two brand set-up next season here in IW. One for our established current/old characters/title belts etc. And one built from the ground-up with new characters. That way we cover all bases. Any thoughts?

I think probably keeping it one brand would be best, because if you separate them into brands you could easily kill a lot of potential storylines. Plus does a person get traded to the "vet" brand after a while? ALso, you have potential staleness from lack of different people to work with and possibly even a drop in activity or at least something that seems like it.
I think what might be the best solution is a middle ground on acknowledging the past. Like generalizing it is allowed, but name dropping isn't.
Stuff like "I've trained and wrestled all over the world" "I've faced the top competition in multiple areas of the world" or "I remember you __________ you're an asshole who's attempted to get in my way before" I imagine would be ok with most.
And just axe stuff like name dropping titles, people, feds, and events from elsewhere specifically.
I think that'd be a fair compromise. Vet characters get to acknowledge that they do have history, but you avoid drama and possible new member intimidation that may come from people name dropping things outside the fed.

That in a nutshell is what I'd like to see happen in the long term. But like Brandon said, there's still obstacles in the way of that happening, namely those folks still holding grudges, and people who think because they're characters wouldn't get any breaks in another fed, they choose not to be part of it. And that's there choice, yes. You're entitled to be a member wherever you want to be a member. I know for a fact the reason why some people haven't ever joined PWN, despite the fact that on numerous occasions I openly extended an invitation to anyone willing to be a member to jump right in some folks haven't because of their "personal opinions" of me, and more importantly my brother Thr33x. Despite the fact that we have no further E-Fed affiliation AT ALL, I'm still "guilty by association" for the mistakes he made in both the feds he created. And again, that's on the individual to keep the grudge they still harbor from then.
Sooner or later though those people have to realize they're not doing themselves any service. I mean, some of the dumb decisions we've made were from 5-6 years ago. If a person is still miffed over something done more then half a decade ago, they really need to re-evaluate their stance in E-Wrestling. Hell, at one point me and Jonny Pyro were pretty much mortal enemies...now he's one of my most active members AS WELL as my primary graphix guy AND the guy footin' the bill for our server space. It's all a matter of realizing what E-Wrestling truly is at it's core...a creative outlet. It's not a popularity contest...it's a means to tell a story within the structure of a medium we all love, Pro Wrestling. Nothing more, nothing less. The people who take this hobby of ours personally are the ones who stir the pot and cause the sparks that turn into flame wars. I personally see no purpose of those types of members, and the moment I see one in the midst of my operation, they're warned once...and removed after the 2nd offense. Thankfully in the year plus we've been up, we've had no such incidents, because we all believe in the same vision and direction for the fed. It all boils down to if the individual, and if they're willing to be a team player or one-sided and selfish

That's it really though. I liked everything else you mentioned. Ask yourself the question of how believable would Ashley saying that statement have been without mentioning well known characters? It's not a knock on the characters that do exist in WWA. It's the matter that none of them are what you'd call "household names". It's not that any of the characters suck, it's the fact that a statement in the tone that Ashley made could only be backed by mentioning other female characters in her "class" so to speak. That being character that have existed more then 5 years in the E-fed world. And not to pick on you or anything, but your opinion on her post is exactly the thing that forms a constant wedge between characters. Despite the fact that it was said merely to drive home a point and further the tale they're telling, you took offense to it. Not in a hostile form, but it obviously rubbed you the wrong way, hence you're bringing it up here. And that train of thought 100% of the time becomes cancerous in the long run. If a mere statement from a veteran establishing her/his seniority character sparks distaste from you, what happens when they're statements are more direct? Pretty much the same sentiments I made in the above post I just made, it falls on the individual to not take it personally. I've had PLENTY of people take shots at my characters, even people in my own fed. And not soft ones as well. But because people generally know I don't take anything said personally, they know that my threshold for taking a shot is pretty high. And I have no qualms with it when it's a relevant statement used to further a story. As far as the name dropping thing, I'm just going to have to agree to disagree with you and Maniac. I see no harm or foul in doing it. It brings realism to the content it's used for. Beating around the bush and being subtle about what's said isn't something I do at all, but I guess it's because I have thick skin on the matter. With my character Primo Valiante, If the opportunity arises I make it my duty to mention Lionheart and Genesis by name when describing the feud they had in LXW, because it was an important and defining moment in all three of there E-Fed careers. To me, mentioning someone's name is showing respect and acknowledging them and their character for being a part of wholesale history of what we've done as E-Fed role players. This is why I was thinking perhaps of having a two brand set-up next season here in IW. One for our established current/old characters/title belts etc. And one built from the ground-up with new characters. That way we cover all bases. Any thoughts? I agree 100% that the OOC history sometimes ruins what could potentially be A-Class interactions between characters, merely because Member A doesn't like the way Member B handles their character. An example of that...a character I'm sure EVERYONE is familiar with...!!!JONNY PUNCH!!!. Safe to say, the handler is how you say "animated". A very candid, upfront, blunt person. And his character exudes his same personal traits x1000. Even though he's dialed it back in recent years, when he 1st burst into E-Feds, he was the plague. He made everyone uncomfortable, broke all of the conventional rules, and got under people's skin. But he did it in a way that was completely IC. But he cut so deep that you felt in OOC, and that's why at the time he was pretty much blacklisted from what I call "the circle" of E-feds. What would happen if all of a sudden !!!JONNY PUNCH!!! showed up as a new member here in IW? People would run for the hills, and he'd struggle to find anyone to work with because there's most likely more then a few folks still here that he pissed off in the past. The only people who'd work with him are the people who "get" the character, which is few and far between. Another example I can use? My twin brother Thr33x. Needless to say there's PLENTY of people who still hold a grudge against him. And rightly so, as he did make many mistakes, burn many bridges and alienate a lot of people. He's retired from E-Fedding completely now, but imagine if he showed up all of a sudden to be a member, what would happen? He'd be instantly alienated and thrown under the bus without even being given a chance to prove he's turned over a new leaf. And why? Because of lingering OOC bad blood. Hell, same thing goes for me. If I joined IW with on of my well known characters, how many people would jump at the chance of interacting with me? Grudges are the bane of E-Wrestling. Always have been, always will be. In a social medium like this that's pretty much built on emotion and evoking emotion from your content, some people have thicker skin then others. Sorry for the novels I'm writing, this is just a really good discussion.

In a perfect world there are a lot of these things that could happen but as Brandon has said to put the ego aside. I have been in a couple efeds and there is arguing and complaining about either the other character or the simming or something? It seems if things don't go the way of certain characters then they get pissed and walk out the door. I can say it is very difficult to run an efed and try to please everyone. It is impossible like it is in life. It is about having fun and using your spare time to get out of these reality really.
Efeds may be dieing I am not going to argue with that OZ. But a lot of it may have to do with the home federations but I know a great portion has to do with in how efeds have been ran in the past. Some of them can be confusing on how to start or where to begin. And instead of efeds supporting one another you know what happens? They try to destroy one another through what is obvious OOC comments in IC. I think that is bush league to say the least. That is why I have been in other places and left mostly because of that. And I know that there are some people in which some may have an issue out of but honestly the ones I have ever had an issue out of well I don't hold grudges. That is even with you Oz. I was there and when me and 3x had our talk privately we left on good terms. That is why I hope all efeds do well and those in here know that I want them all to be and go where they are the happiest and can be the most productive.
Many people sign up to see what is going on in what efed. I am sure we have some that come here and I am sure we have some here that go elsewhere to look. Just think in all there are some things that can be cleaned up without everything being front and center in a post for drama to start. And I do know how hard it is to develop a character in an efed that is already established. I think that is why we have tried in here to let some of the proven stars go as we build on the future. Some older stars remain but do like the mix and see new fresh faces being and becoming what an efed should be about.
Like I said the discussion of the efed world is a good one and it is always nice to see people willing to chime in and give their points. I know we all have things that we could do better and I believe that is why Karl posted this to see what we can do to make it a better place for everyone. The idea of a mega efed interests me but it is a lot of work and a lot of people who are used to being "the man or woman" for that matter will have to leave that at the door as well as any drama or issue they may or still have with another character/handler. Just a thought.

It's extremely believable to skate over it rather than name dropping. For example, you brought up DB and Punk and how WWE acknowledges they trained on the indies. They do indeed, but you never hear them specifically say ROH or other places. Mostly so they don't give free publicity to any "competitors", but also because to focus on WWE rather than other places. The feds that it does acknowledge now are ones that they now own.
But if another company challenged WWE like WCW did, they probably would mention it. However, there's one difference between real wrestling and efeds that for me personally change whether it's a proper thing to do or not. The end goal of a real wrestling company is to make money, while the end goal of an efed is to have fun. Acknowledging history can be profitable in real wrestling, while in efeds it can make someone seem like they have a sense of entitlement because of what they did elsewhere.
I get where you're coming from and do see how it can be used to add to things. But at the same time, I think there's a lot of drama that has and can come from name dropping and needs to be taken into consideration. Even when people have a thick skin, they don't like to see old wounds get opened even IC by mentioning other feds and past feds where this stuff happened.
Taking Primo, Genesis, and Lionheart as an example. The degree that you mention it I think should vary depending on the fed you're in. Like say if you bring Primo into IW. It'd make sense to mention having wars with Genesis and Lionheart in the past. Just not necessarily name dropping the exact fed, because it didn't happen in IW, though it did involve two characters of it's history. Where as take it to a fed where none of the three have been, there's not really much of a reason to bring it up beyond just self hype. And sometimes people really haven't heard of those characters because maybe it's a completely different circle of efeds, so it really adds nothing.
I think it's a matter of being a professional both ways in the end. I respect that as a handler(and sometimes as a character) you have history, but at the same time you respect the fed you're in and focus on that and not bring up the past or other places regularly. Speaking generally of course, not just you specifically.
I do agree with your point about multiple feds being good though, because simply some people have different tastes in the type of environment they enjoy. Not meant as a slight against PWN, just the environment and cast of characters is something I'd more try when I have free time and want to challenge myself(love doing what people say you shouldn't do and showing that it can work if done right lol) to something different.

I myself would relish the opportunity to rp with either OZ or 3X if it came to pass that they took any of their well known guys into IW. My take on the name dropping and such, is I think it adds to the character. If you do not have history then you as a character have nothing to stand on as a base. But on the other hand there are people that dont like the over tooting of ones horn. This is not to piss Brandon off or anything but if you look at his Bio for Gen. That, if read by someone that really doesnt have confidence in his character or himself in RL for that matter, would kinda get under there skin and steer them away from Gen at all cost. Which IMO would possibly would have been a great story if the other guy had of given working with Brandon a shot. As a whole I like to work with who ever wants to step into the weird world of my feeble old mind with me. When I have the time to sit and type I can write a story with the best of them haha. I dont have the time to be in more then one fed. now so I cant build a history outside of I:W. Karl mentioned a few times and again on MSN last night something that I had done many years ago a NWA style belt like in the old territories years. I always liked that idea and it worked back in the early 90's when i started text fedding. Cant really see why it couldnt work again with Simmed Efeds.

As a 1-off idea, if it was possible to pull off across a few feds. A single title to represent a cluster of companies as the "One Huge Champion" of the entire alliance, can make for some damn good storylines, and dream matches that otherwise wouldn't be possible.
This is the base of the reason I have Brent in I:W aswell as PWN. So I can work with everyone possible. I would have KILLED to have Sylas in both as well, but it's too much work, and I "retired" Sylas on American/Canadian soil (loophole intended for Japan storylines/matches). Not to mention the women I also handle now replaced his attention I had dedicated to just him.
It'd be a dream come true if there was some kind of alliance between all the feds, to co-exist with eachother, and allowing for supershows or cross promotion storylines.

Might as well respond to this. If the idea of trying to put the "fun" into the efeding world. No longer holding grudges. A pure clean slate. I'm willing to work with anyone, and everyone. Seeing rivalries possibly happening for my Double S, or someone new against I haven't before. Always up for new dynamics added to the efed scene.

Indeed would be sweet to compete with all these household caw names & up and comers too under one united fed so to speak, it is a pain in ass keeping up with multiple feds and such at certain points...
I tried my hand at it too to try and work an all under one joint and ultimately failed due to lack of peeps showing up to the site, broken equipment etc., there was one site called OWN that was almost similar to whats being discussed here, where everyone could request a match against certain caws and see how they stack up without the worries of grudges and shit..
Hopefully people can relax enough and see it's just a game nothing personal and we can maybe one day come in with no fears of drama ya know..
