Jan 2011 - New HDTVI'll start this out with my old living room gaming area: This was in late Jan when I first got my HDTV. We can even see my old SDTV sat on the floor behind me like yesterday's news. In terms of gaming machines, it has a PS3 and a Wii plugged into it. I'll take new pictures later tonight, since it has changed loads since then.

IN DETAIL ======= 1. HP Pavilion 17-inch Flatscreen (My PC Monitor) 2. 22-inch Vizio HDTV (Full 1080p. My main TV for gaming & watching DVD's/Blu-Ray) 3. HP Deskjet Printer 4. Cordless Phone 5. X-Box 360 (Which will soon be replaced by the new 360 Slim. Since this one is now officially dead) 6. PS3 7. PS2 8. Wii 9. (Last Photo) Dell 20-inch HDTV (My first HDTV ever owned. However, because it is one of the first models. It lacks full 1080p & has no HDMI hookups. Only component, VGA, S-Video & Standard Video) 10. Two Guitars for Guitar Hero (PS2 & 360 respectively) 11. (2nd Photo) Linkskey Broadband Router & my cable modem. Self explanatory. In those little shelves are just junk mainly. My 360 headset, 2ndary (or back-up) PS3 controller, etc) Other stuff: As you can see hanging by my X-Box. The hookup on the left is the multi-HD Component adapater for 360, PS3 & Wii. I use this for the Dell TV. The one to the right of the X-Box is the standard composite video hook-up. Which I use for only capturing footage on my Dazzle. Very bottom shelf. Next to the black chair is a USB Keyboard. That I use for chatting on 360 & PS3 when needed. And also, an old PC Scanner below it that doesn't work anymore.

May 2011Console ArrangementTop-Bottom, Left-Right. 1. PS3 (Blu-Ray, DVD films and PS3, PSONE games player) So wish I had a backwards compatable machine to also play PS2 on here. 2. PS3/X360 extra controllers for when family come round. 3. Xbox360 Slim 4. O2 Router 5. Nintendo Wii (GameCube, Wii games player) 6. NGC controller, PS2 wired controller. 7. UK Slim PS2 sat on top of modded UK fat PS2 (which I think has finally died, hence why the slim is in use) Gaming AreaAside from my actual shelves I thought people might like to see some of my gaming area. You can just see the arm of my white couch in the corner of the picture. I have my TV remote set out, alongside the controllers for each game system and the games I'm currently playing for each machine. They are: PS3 - Mortal Kombat 2011, Wii - Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicals, X360 - BulletStorm.

Hoping to get a place sometime in the next 6 months, though might be a while getting any pics up for it since getting internet isn't high on the list of priorities for it. Probably once I get settled and internet then I'll probably post some pictures.

May 2011 - House TourHallwayThe way our flat works is you open the front door, go up some stairs and you find yourself in our main hallway. We put up this purple sheet thing for a little privacy, and we have a thicker one for when it's winter to keep the warmth in the flat rather than escaping down the stairs and out the door. Turning left at the top of the stairs brings you into our living room. This is a shot from the living room door-way showing the main hallway, and then a closeup. The door after the stairs is the master bedroom, the door opposite us is the 2nd bedroom/my office. Hidden around the corner is the doors for our bathroom, opposite the bedroom, and a storage cupboard which is facing the office door. That is supposed to be an intercom system on the wall opposite the top of the stairs, but the sound is broken, so we only have a video feed of who's at the front door. Still, good for avoiding salesmen from British Gas and stuff who won't take no for an answer. The framed pictures were taken on the cruise we went on over Xmas 2010/New Years 2011, which is where I proposed to my fiance on New Year's Eve. That scroll on the wall is a print of cherry blossoms, and what I'm told is chinese for 'Whole Family Harmony'. OfficeAh, my office. My sanctuary sometimes. Turning right from the door way and you can see the extra bed we have if we have company stay over. Or if I pull an all nighter on the computer/Steam and I can't be bothered dragging my carcass through to the master bedroom. Also an exercise bike. Also known as a decorative piece of funiature that never gets used, even though it really should. From the bed's viewpoint we can see I have my PC facing the doorway of the office. All those boxes piled up need to be taken to the dump sometime soon. I have two external hardrives permenantly plugged into the back of my PC which are sat securley on the shelf, plus one which sits in the top of my PC tower. The top of that metal desk is basically a dumping ground. It also has all my PC equipment plugged into a couple of power surge protectors too, so whatever space isn't a dumping ground is taken over by plug-in wires. It looks like it has a massive space underneath, but that is where I sometimes keep my Xbox360 if it isn't in the living room. I would imagine that if we ever got a printer it would go in that space. PC desk has nothing underneath it so it's got plenty of leg room. PC desk has the usual monitor, speakers, mouse and keyboard, plus a PC controller which is plugged into the tower for emulated games. I'm trying really hard to get my PS3 controller to work in my PC but I just can't get it to work. Also have a few pens handy, and both of my PS3's, one UK and one USA. Afterall, if I'm leaving my PC I need to be able to check up on my gaming news/discussion. Living RoomSo, as I was saying earlier, turn left at the top of the stairs and you come to our living room. The living room is a living room, dining room, kitchen room. It's one long room that is sectioned-off into 2 or 3 smaller ones, depending on if you count the middle as a 'dining room' or not. This is the shot from the doorway and you immediately come face-to-face with my fiance's design choices. Those are her Eifel Tower print, sideboard/ornament stand. You can just about see the desk we have opposite the dining table, and the back of the couch. Another print on the wall, that desk by the living room door is my fiance's ''office'' station. Her laptop is sat on it as well as her bowl with important things like keys and tape measure (for measuring and buying yet more furniature/prints for the walls). Some washing hiding behind the door too which is drying out (we have no space to put a tumble dryer). Is it just me? Or do other people also hate covers and 'throws' over the couch cushions? My fiance loves them, but I always think they make things look a mess. This is the bookcase tucked away in a little alcove And sat atop the bookcase of my DVDs and her DVDs is my fiance's dreaded rubber duck collection. Some people collect the silliest of things (goes back to looking at his collection of different Joker playing cards) Here you can see the dinning 'room', basically one single table haha, [/img]and the kitchen area a little better. We got that fridge-freezer for only £60 from a family member whom had it in storage. Boss! In the second picture you can see my two life-lines. A sandwitch maker/grill, which I call my 'burger press', and a deep fat fryer for making chips/sausages etc. I can't really use the hob of the cooker, or whatever other bits come with it, except for the oven. Even in the oven I tend to burn things by accident. A shame that I have to eat lots of fried food because that mostly all I can cook myself when my fiance is out at work. Not a good diet, that's why I look like a I have a beer gut despite not drinking beer.... :sigh: Annnd there you have it (apart from the bedroom, bathroom and top-of-stairs storage cupboard), my flat.

I'm deffinatly going to re-arrange the gaming area, I think I can put some things on the top surface of the unit which the TV sits on. E.G. Wired Keyboard/Mouse from the PC, which is sat next to TV on an additional wooden 'bedside table'.
That means that I can sit right in front of the TV when I'm playing PC games/on PC/using the wired PS2 controller. But when I'm watching media from the couch I can use the wireless keyboard and mouse, or indeed use the wireless ps3/x360 controllers if I'm on either of those machines.
Since my silver, phat ps2 seems to have packed-in, it'll be my black PS2 slim sat on top of the unit, which will go nicely with the black TV, remote, keyboard and mouse, PC, and cordless phone cradle. And in turn this will give me more room to play around with the shelves underneath. At the moment with the PS2 being on the bottom shelve I find myself not using it much, probably for that very reason.

July 2011Living Room Gaming Area Re-ArrangeThere's my PC sat next to the TV. I keep all the downloaded media on this. So it's easier to display the PC on the HDTV (to then watch from the couch) than it is trying to stream media from the PC to the TV through the PS3/X360 (which freezes), or trying to load the media onto a pendrive, which the PS3/X360 frequently don't recognise (mostly mkv and some avi file types). This is just find the media file and double-click to play it. AWESOME! There's my coffee table shoved up against the wall. Now we have an open space for the Wii Fit board to be dragged-out from under the couch into, and it's a lot easier to get up off the couch to change game/film discs without having the walk around the table. Notice the wireless mouse and keyboard as well, if I need to control the PC from the couch. Here we are, my new gaming station. Accross the top of the wooden TV unit, that's a slim PS2 with a wired PS2 controller in it. On top of that are my PS3 and X360 controllers. When I happen to be playing on a PS2 game and need access to the top-loading CD tray, I'll just move those controllers over to the other side of the unit. Or perhaps to where the TV remote is, sat on top of the TV base. Then we have my wired Keyboard and Mouse from the PC. Wired = no lag, so together with this HDTV playing the PC version of Left 4 Dead with all the settings turned to highest is IMMENSE! And finally there is a little bit of space for my coffee, and my wireless phone receiver/cradle. U JELLY?

Maybe in a year. I'm quite interested in SONY's PlayStation branded 3DTV they showed off at E3.
It seems SONY are smart. For many people the PS2 was the cheap-o DVD player they always wanted. Me included. For many the PS3 was the relatively cheap-o BluRay player they needed when BluRay players were still stupidly expensive. Me included. And hell, it will be the same with the 3DTV, but at least SONY will also offer affordable pairs of 3D glasses instead of the stupid prices that are currently charged, and I would get Resistance 3 thrown in to boot. Smart move, SONY.

I do like the PS3. But that was the main selling point for me picking the console up. ;D

September 2011Living Room - Miriam's new unitsAlthough I don't consider Miriam or I to be hoarders, there are times where the idea of cleaning up just looks like an unclimbable mountain. When I watch hoarders it gives me some incentive I guess to start. On thing I'm going to have to do is to ''somehow'' rearrange my things in the living room. The problem is that I am either pressing my legs against the shelves which my consoles are sat on, or crossing my legs onto the chair, or sitting 'side-on' to the unit with my legs pointed towards the window or the door. Ideally I want to have my legs underneath, like a computer desk. Unfortunately that means I would have to find somewhere else for my consoles, which is still somehow handily-accessable from my workstation at the TV, which my PC runs through. With the unit to the left of the TV unit now having my PC sat on top of it, along with the phone, internet router and external hardrives along with various oraments of Miriam's - I am sortof hoping I could perhaps put the consoles into indidivual squares of Miriam's ornamant case which is to the right of the TV unit. But to be honest I know the consoles these days are probably too big to fit into those squares; and that Miriam wouldn't allow me to do that at all. Very hard to figure out a way to do it... I mean with everything wired in behind different furniature units and therefore being hard to access, I don't really want to unplug stuff and have to struggle to plug them in again when I need them.
