Character History & Biography:
It all started out with a career in acting.
Ronald Zlabe was a child star. He never wanted to be a wrestler when things were in the beginning. Sure, he always loved to watch wrestling, he loved the physical demand it required, but it wasn't what he wanted to do. He wanted to be an actor. He was inspired by various comedians and action movies stars. He would stay up all night in front of a mirror playing with facial expressions, testing how easily he could trigger emotions, and repeating lines over and over again that he had heard from a film that he had watched. He did this almost every night, and the hard work was paying off. He was becoming very good at it. He had many different voices he could do, if he could only become a voice actor. If he could be the star role, he was even better. He could cry at the drop of a dime. He could get angry quicker than you could even say anger. He could be happier than a kid in a candy shop. On top of that, he had a great memory for his lines. He could look the script over a few times and be ready for the next few scenes. To top it all off, he developed his own new star name. Ronald Zlabe wouldn't ever make it. It was too common. Ryan Blaze, on the other hand, would.
His mother and father took him to audition for a movie that was filming in Los Angeles. The star role required a witty young child. Perfect. Ryan went in and nailed the audition, and in no time was on the set recording his first movie.
The movie was release, and Ryan won an award for best newcomer, best act by an actor under 16, and best comedy (although the best comedy wasn't a prestigious award, as it was a small ceremony that he received it at. Didn't matter to young Ryan, seeing as an award is an award). The positive reaction from his first film went wonderfully. He began receiving calls on a weekly basis about opening roles he'd do well in.
Ryan was now a hit. He was 17, only 5 years after he started his acting career, and he was a regular house hold name. There was the Adam Sandlers, the Will Smiths, the Tom Cruises, and the Ryan Blazes. Everyone knew the name Blaze. He had starred in too many movies to count, and all of which were successful.
Then there was "Slicer".
Ryan accepted the role in what was supposed to be the best teen horror movie to ever be made. The star lineup was great. It had all the potential with the exception of one thing... The script was cheesy, the effects were terrible, and Ryan couldn't act crazy to save his life. He could cry, and he could act mad, but he couldn't act loopy. He didn't know what it took to act like a mad man. Because of all the downsides to the movie, it was a complete flop. It lost a great deal of money, and Ryan had invested a lot of his own cash into it, thinking it'd be a great success that it should have been.
In one movie, Ryan had lost it all. People questioned if he still had it. He was just a child star, and all his fans left with the cuteness.
Ryan now had nothing. His parents thought he was a bum. His fans were all gone. All he had was his sister, Tiffany.
"You can do whatever you want to do in life. You're Ryan Blaze."
With those words guiding him, Ryan began training with Tiffany to wrestle. She had been training since she was a young girl. It was always her passion to wrestle. She didn't mind training her big brother to wrestle. She was always inspired by him, and hoped to be as successful as he was at the prime of his acting career, but in the wrestling field.
With Tiffany's excellent training, Ryan became an alright all-around wrestler. He learned all the basics, and began to really show signs of greatness in his submission wrestling.
When Tiffany decided Ryan was ready, she got him joined up at a California wrestling promotion called Sunny Cal Wrestling. There he and his sister tore it up together. Ryan tapped out everyone he could in the males division, and Tiff pinned every female in the state. The Blaze name was back on top... In California, anyways. They would do singles, or tag up. It didn't matter if it was a mixed tag match, where they faced a man and a woman, or it was them facing one of the top male tag teams. At the end of the day, they were unstoppable together. They were both undefeated.
After Internet videos of them tearing it up spread all around the Internet, and tape collectors and traders got a hold of the videos of the Blaze's, they started to get big turn outs in SCW events. From the early shows of 20 to 30, they started to sell out bigger venues with 200 to 300. It continued to expand, up until May of 2006. To celebrate the success of the company, SCW held it's own spring super show, called SpringSlam. News of SpringSlam spread around the states, and a talent scout out in New York caught word of this. He flew out to California days before the show, demanding to see Blaze vs Blaze. He said he'd pay the company handsomely, and the winner would be rewarded a contract to one of the top promotions out East. The promotion agreed, and Tiffany Blaze vs Ryan Blaze in a Last Person Standing match was booked.
24 hours before the show, Ryan and Tiffany were preparing, and shooting each other ideas. They wanted to put on an excellent show. During this conversation, Tiffany begged Ryan to let her win. It was her dream. His dream was to act, and he already had his chance. This was now her chance to do what she loved. He agreed, and they planned out how she would win.
The match started, and went on for 15 minutes of pure wrestling. It was a showcase of all showcases. Every move in each of their arsenal was pulled out. At the twenty minute mark, Tiffany looked at her brother from underneath a mask of blood. She saw him in the exact same shape as she was. They both had gave it their all up until this point. She knew she had to do their plan now. She nodded to him to signal that it was time to do the set up finish. He nodded back, and the both began to climb slowly to their feet. She kicked him in the gut and readied herself to do her finisher, a modified DDT. As she put Ryan under her arm, however, things changed. She was suddenly lifted off of her feet, and tossed over Ryan's head. She landed awkwardly on her shoulders and then was wrapped up by Ryan. He was choking her out. She felt her body go weak by her brothers powerful clutch. Everything went black for her, and everything was going right for Ryan. He choked her out. He let her go and got to his feet. He threw up a taunt as the ref counted to ten, and called for the bell. Once Tiffany regained consciousness, she say Ryan standing over her.
"You snooze, you lose. Thanks for the free trip."
Ryan left with the talent scout and signed a contract. He left his sister back in SCW, where the crowd numbers began to drop back down to it's regular numbers.
With his sister now a part of the past, Ryan could continue on the LXW.
Ryan started at LXW with his head in the right place, but was very unsuccessful in the first few months of competition. He came in and figured the best way to get known was to get over with the fans. He was right, however, he struggled to do so due to his poor win/loss record. The fans couldn't take him seriously with his poor performances time after time.
A few months in Ryan began to get sick of trying to please the fans and getting nothing in return. After months of performing as the "good guy", Ryan decided to change his personality. He decided to do a complete revamp of his wrestling character. From his looks, to his move set, to even his vocabulary, Ryan changed it all. In the ring, he was cocky and arrogant. He had a "my shit doesn't stink" attitude. This new persona of his was developed to go along with the negative response from the crowd. He wanted them to have a reason to boo him. And after it was all said and done, it backfired on him. Once he changed his personality, that's when the fans started to fall in love with him, and that's when he started to rise up the ladder of success. People loved his trash talking because he was simply a natural at it. They loved his 'too cool to care' attitude. His t-shirt sales were starting to sky rocket. His name was starting to spread.
Half way through LXW's first season, Ryan Blaze challenged for the LXW Riots Rulez championship held by Johnny Shotgun. After a few promos here and there, the match was changed to a triple threat. Chris Lionheart had joined in on the match which started one of wrestlings biggest rivalries. Ryan went on to win the title due to Lionheart tripping over a chair in a hurried attempt to break up a pin. Ryan's first title reign was short, and for the most part, unrecognized. He lost the belt the next week to "Tha Notorious" 187.
Ryan continued his career in LXW until it's closing at the end of it's first season. After "The Pantheon", Ryan headed from New York to Georgia. From LXW to TNB, run by the very man that he beat for his first professional title, Chris Lionheart.
Ryan entered TNB with the egotistical personality he had developed in LXW. It got him over with the Atlanta crowd, and in what seemed like no time he was one of the well known superstars in the federation. However, with personal reasons, he left after what seemed like a very short stay. He faked his own death, and as people grieved, he moved on. A month or so later Ryan showed up at the newly formed XWA, which was formed off of LXW's demise.
During this time in the NEW New York federation, Ryan began a relationship with former TNB star Velvet. What started off as a friendly relationship and manger/client deal, sparked into a deeper relationship. Ryan began to love Velvet. He knew she had feelings for him too, but he was never sure if they were the same.
Under her guidance, Ryan went on a tear and won the XWA Pure title, which was for the best professional wrestler. No gimmicks, no crazy match stipulations and rules, just one on one wrestling.
However, upon winning the title, Velvet left TNB, and left Ryan behind in the dust. He had hit what he believed was the climax of his career, and he now had to do it by himself. This broke Ryan. He wasn't in the right place, and after only one defense, he lost his title.
