Character History & Biography:
2005:
The young wrestler was fresh out of the British Wrestling Alliance's training camp, where he had been stuck under the thumb of his wrestling trainer, and BWA World Champion, Keith Williams. The two both debuted in OCW in May of 2005, with Jason actually debuting my interupting Williams' debut promo and getting in his face. It looked like Jason 'The Sensation' Youngblood was set for his first big feud right off the bat, but Keith Williams would insist on a no-compete clause, meaning that Youngblood couldn't touch him for a month, giving them time to grow into new roles in their new company. Little did they know, they would never face off against each other, even to this day.
The British Wrestling Alliance shortly after invaded OCW as a united front, bringing with them a slew of new wrestlers, including Jason's older brother, Shawn Youngblood. Shawn took his struggling younger brother under his wing, because he couldn't seem to buy a win. After a trademark makeover, to more closely resemble the part-time movie star elder sibling, the brothers began to pick up tag team wins. It was during this time that BWA Owner Claire Blackthorn left the United States to concentrate her efforts on the wrestling company back home, leaving the woman known at that time only as "Lucy" in charge as the new BWA General Manager. The manager of The HellRaisers tag team, she managed to convince Sylas Styles to jump from OCW to BWA and help them fight in the war. They started an affair even though Sylas was married to Mercedes at the time, which promptly ended Jason's previous relationship with the BWA General Manager. The Youngblood brothers would compete in both tag and singles matches for many months, before Shawn Youngblood chose to go after the OCW Cruiserweight Title which he captured several times, starting Jason off on another downward spiral.
Jason Youngblood regressed into a brooding, neurotic, psycho; only out for himself. His unprovoked attacks on fellow BWA wrestlers, including Keith Williams, his brother Shawn and BWA General Manager Lucy, lead to him being fired and being picked up by rival OCW. When BWA eventually won the invasion and took control of OCW - before the decision was reversed on a technicality - Jason would go on to unify the Television and X-Violence Titles in a Triple Threat TLC Steel Asylum match. He would make Cage matches his specialty, defeating Brody Hondo in a "2 out of 3 Escapes" Match. Jason would then leave OCW at around the same time as most BWA wrestlers got out whilst they still could. The Hellraisers left OCW as the Tag Champions, one retired and the other smashed up the tag titles on a live edition of WCW Nitro. WCW:TheNewBlood had opened in October 2005, and Jason Youngblood would fulfill a roster spot here, chasing titles and having periodic feuds, but it wasn't until he ventured elsewhere that he really started making waves again.
2006:
Jason burst onto the scene in WTF, VWE's training camp, to a chorus of boos and much violence. He was here for one reason and one reason only. He made that perfectly clear in his first match, a 6 Man Tag, where he would not stop beating his former BWA boss and former flame Lucy from pillar to post. Cryptic tape recorded messages would be left for Lucy. Hellraiser Death was brought in as Lucy's bodyguard, to keep an eye out for and prevent Jason's advances, as he slipped deeper and deeper into obsession. Eventually Lucy had to ask to be made into a VWE manager to get her away from Jason in WTF. Jason was stuck in WTF until he got moved up, and could exact his revenge on both Sylas Styles and Lucy. Various one off meetings between Lucy/Jason and Jason/Sylas would take place over the course of the next year as Lucy and Sylas traveled down to the developmental territory on various occasions, for different reasons. Each time more fuel was added to the eventual fire that everyone was sure would ignite once Jason was promoted to a full time VWE wrestler. As Jason tried many things to get their attention, and the attention of those in charge so that he could get moved up, he was continually denied. He made himself sicker and sicker until he had to be placed in solitary confinement. Hellraiser Death, who had become Jason's personal minder, eventually returned renamed as War Machine with a revitalized Jason Youngblood as his tag partner. Jason would capture the WTF World Title, Wrath Title and Tag Titles with War Machine to become the only Triple Crown champion since the heyday of Chris Lionheart in WTF's successor training league. The two would hold WTF hostage and turn it into their own little playground, even forcing AJ Pain to leave WTF in their own minds. Jason would also dress up in a red and black t-shirt reminiscent of Sylas Styles' own merchandise t-shirt in another attempt to get noticed and moved up to the main roster. All the while, Sylas Styles and Lucy were being stalked on the main VWE shows by a masked wrestler known only as 'The Cat', though many believed this to be Chris Lionheart because 'The Cat' was his previous gimmick name from Japan, and Lionheart himself also had problems with Sylas Styles. Sylas Styles would win a "mask vs hair" match against The Cat, but Lionheart ran down to the ring and stopped the unmasking, saying that 'some things are better left unknown', and announcing that Lucy was in currently going into labor in her dressing room and they needed to get her to a hospital. As The Cat gets away, Sylas Styles goes to find Lucy. The Cat would attack Sylas Styles, preventing him from going to the hospital with Lucy, so Lionheart traveled with his former boss. Shortly after there was a round of firings at VWE/WTF, apparently too many people were challenging the status quo of legends and alumni being counted as part of the 'active main roster' despite being absent, whilst talented wrestlers were stuck down in WTF. Jason, Lucy, Chris Lionheart and The Cat were all included in this group.
Some time before the Lionheart/Cat/Styles/Lucy fiasco, Jason's brother Shawn had finally came and removed him from WTF solitary confinement for his own safety. Borrowing money he did not have to pay for expensive psychiatric help, Jason seemed to be on the mend in TNB, fighting with his brother by his side. The pair faced down mafia henchman Tony Vittorio, who came to TNB to collect money that Shawn had borrowed to pay for Jason's professional help. Jason Youngblood became the last recognized TNB Hardcore Title holder when the title is unified into the TNB Television title by Jonny Pyro beat him and another opponent in a triple threat Tables, Ladders & Chairs match. Jason also took in a change of scenery on his own, going to work for LXW, Shawn eventually joining him there too.
Shawn Youngblood would go down to the LXW ring one night, flanked by two riot officers. Once there he verbally assaulted two wrestlers, one a student of Sylas Styles known as Brent Starr, causing them to come down to the ring. As one riot officer is de-helmeted, revealing himself to be The Cat, and then de-masked as Jason - the other riot guard revealed herself to be Lucy... Youngblood! A couple of nut-shots with the nightsticks later, it was explained that Lucy's newborn baby boy was Jason's. And that the whole entire time that Jason spent in WTF was staged. Lucy and Jason needed more money to support her imminent child birth, and being a VWE manager paid more than being an active WTF wrestler, which she could no longer continue to do anyway when pregnant. Jason wanted to be in the main company where the money was, not the training league. The idea was that by creating a sure-fire ''money'' feud the bosses couldn't possibly say no to would secure a promotion at the end of the 2006 season, as Chris Lionheart toyed with the idea of moving down to be the General Manager of WTF full time to create a space for Jason on the main roster. The Youngbloods would largely take a break from wrestling for a few months, with the birth of 'Little Mark', wrestling only the odd matches for LXW and TNB throughout the end of 2006.
2007:
Jason would go on a major campaign for brutal matches to happen again in TNB, or for the Hardcore title to be reinstated. This would eventually lead to the creation of the King of Crimson Title, but TNB would shut down due to financial struggles before that belt could be defended in TNB. Today, the King Of Crimson Title history is included in the lineage of the Pro Wrestling Neo No Limits Title, formerly of XWA. Although he had spent a lot of time petitioning for brutal matches in early 2007, by mid-2007 Jason's knees were shot, and he had to undergo extensive repairable surgery. It is mostly for this reason that Chris Lionheart would not allow Jason Youngblood to compete in his shot-lived wrestling company, New-Era Wrestling. Although Jason took it as a personal slight against him, and has never truly forgiven Lionheart for excluding him from a wrestling venture. Jason would not return to wrestling until 2009 with the return of TNB...
2009:
Jason begin 2009 by getting involved in 'hardcore' matches, whilst an official belt was not present. Micheal Ragen would make a deal with new TNB authority figure Sylas Styles to prevent one coming to TV screens, which sparked a feud between the two. Family problems rear their ugly head when Shawn takes his new-found hatred for Angel Fyre out on his own brother! With his brother now an enemy, and an official Hardcore division with it's own belt looking likely to never happen, Jason took his guarenteed money and sat at home, disatisfied. The initial interest in a Hardcore division gradually phased out, Ragen had gotten his way. Jason returned later in the year for one night only, as he attacked new personal assistant with a chair. After chewing Sylas out in his office, bringing up their past rivalry, he was thrown through a glass window by the assistant he had just attacked. This put him out of action for a little while longer. On the last night of 2009 at the Night of Legends PPV is where he and Shawn returned together, reunited. Shawn interupted Chris Lionheart's entrance, whipped him back towards the backstage area, where Jason emerged with a chair in hand and erased Chris' face. The two stood over the once-again authority figure and threatened him to bring in both a Hardcore and a High-Flying title in the 2010 season.
2010:
As the year started, Jason and Shawn were together as a tag team again, going against the debuting Future Shock team of Brent Starr and Alex Shoque with their manager Joslyn St. James. When Brent Starr's growing ego, along with Ashley Sixx, caused massive friction with Alex Shoque and JSJ, Future Shock veered off track and have yet to return, either together or seperately. But there was another team to test The Youngbloods at different stages throughout the year inbetween bouts of striking. XDX remained targeted on taking out the brothers, but it was The Youngbloods whom would ultimately defeat XDX at Night of Legends 2 in a Tables Ladders & Chairs match.
Despite matches against numerous tag teams, and heated feuds, the two brothers have yet to ever taste tag team gold together. Much of Jason's year in 2010 was also spent in multi-person hardcore matches revolving around the new Violence division, which merged with the new A1 division to ultimately become the XtremeTelevision division. He was even able to relieve Ryan Blaze of the Violence title in August, but has since then stalled on a rematch with the psychotic Blaze for some unknown reason, which may become clear when the two next step into the ring together. Towards the end of the year Jason's knee injury flared up again, and he hopes that 2011 will not be his last year. If it is, he hopes to go out with the fans supporting him.
2011:
2011 will be a new era for Jason, because now that Lionheart has retired he feels he will finally step out of the very large shadow that Lionheart cast over his close friends and long-time associates. By no means done with Hardcore wrestling, Jason also hopes to capture tag gold with his brother, but insists that they both need to step their game up and focus solely on wrestling, which may or may not be Shawn's 1st passion.
