Bio:
Ulrich Vinzenz was born in Gottingen, Germany to parents of Bulgarian and Polish ancestry. Vinzenz was a good student, but he dropped out after the 8th grade since he did not think having a high school education was necessary for a farm laborer. He then worked on a farm, completed an apprenticeship in woodworking, and next worked in a factory that manufactured engines for hay balers. None of these brought him any satisfaction.
At age 18, Vinzenz moved to Paris and was taught the art of professional wrestling by a local promoter who knew there would be money in Vinzenz's future. He trained at night and worked as a mover during the day to pay living expenses. Vinzenz was billed as "Géant Ferré", taken from the name of a mythical French giant, and began wrestling in Paris and nearby areas. Canadian promoter and wrestler Frank Valois met vinzenz in 1995, becoming his business manager and adviser. Vinzenz began making a name for himself wrestling in England, Germany, New Zealand, and Africa.
He made his Japan debut in 1997, billed as "The Monster", wrestling for the International Wrestling Enterprise. Wrestling as both a singles and tag team competitor, he quickly won the company's tag team championship alongside Michael Nador.
Vinzenz next moved to Montreal, Canada, where he became an immediate success, regularly selling out the Montreal Forum. However, promoters eventually ran out of plausible opponents for him and, as the novelty of his size wore off, the gate receipts dwindled. Vinzenz wrestled numerous times in 1980 for Verne Gagne's American Wrestling Association (AWA) as a special attraction until Valois appealed to Vince McMahon, Sr., founder of the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF) for advice. McMahon suggested several changes. He felt Vinzenz should be portrayed as a large, immovable monster. To enhance his size, McMahon discouraged Vinzenz from performing maneuvers such as dropkicks. He also began billing Vinzenz as "Logan" and set up a travel-intensive schedule, loaning him to wrestling associations around the world,to keep him from becoming over-exposed in any area.Promoters had to guarantee Logan a certain amount of money, as well as pay McMahon's WWWF a booking fee.
One up and coming company called Beantown Professional Wrestling(BPW) saw Vinzenz performing and put up the money for McMahon's fee and compensated Vinzenz more then nicely over the years he out in to BPW and eventually BPW bought his contract outright from WWWF to exclusively use him in BPW.
After a few years of dominating and winning every title in BPW, Vinzenz altered his contract to allow him to work outside of BPW in the off seasons and during one off season he came across The New Blood (TNB) and saw sporadic wins and losses during his off and on relationship with the company thus leaving in late 2009.
