It was a hard fought match. Wasn't too long, wasn't too short. It fell right into that comfort zone where you have the audiences attention the whole way through. It was a great match.
So why was Brent looking down on himself as he came through the curtain to the back where the reporters were awaiting?
Brent, Brent. Mr Starr, any comments about tonights match with Travis Knight?
Comments? Sure, tonight he fought hard, and he proved why he got his contract here. He got the better of me, tonight. I had him beat, I had him down and out. But luck was on his side, and he was close to those ropes. So, he slid out, which caught me off guard, but was a veteran move on his behalf. So, instead of capitalizing, I gave it too much thought. I over thought the situation, and made a mistake. I tried to get a good run at him, and he used my weight, and leverage against me for a 3 count.
It would have happened to anyone. He didn't put me down for that 3 count though, he slipped one in. Enough said about that. You play that match over, and think about it. If he wasn't that close to the ropes, he couldn't have slipped out, and I'd be here talking about how I got a win over a rookie. So, if you ask me, I think we should do it again. If he can beat me, with an actual offensive move, and not a quick roll up like tonight, then I'll personally shake his hand, and endorse him as a potential big star here in I:W.
Now, if you'll excuse me. I'm going to go watch that match back on tape, and learn from my mistakes here tonight.
He's handed a water bottle as he walks off taking the cap off, and taking a big swig from it.
