I:W.com "Ladies and Gentleman. Welcome to this special interview here this evening on I:W.com. As a follow-up to one of our most talked about interviews. Tonight, we've brought back a very special guest.
The interviewer looks over at Genesis with a smile on her face. As Gen. returns the gesture. Leaning back in his chair. Dressed in his baggy jeans, Ozzy Osbourne "No More Tears" T-Shirt and Black Sunglasses.
I:W.com "Genesis, welcome back to I:W.com. So lets catch up with the "King of Controversy". How have things been since the last time we spoke?
Genesis: "Never been better (laughs). It's amazing how much things can change in just two months time. Last time we spoke. I was 'retired'. Looking to enjoy the fruits of my labor. Now? Wouldn't you know it. Those crazy bastards brought me back into the ring. So... here I am!"
I:W.com "Speaking of which. Whats it been like stepping through those ropes again?"
Genesis: "Honestly, it was like I never had left. Like anything else in this world. When you love something so deeply, and passionately. I don't believe you ever really leave it behind. To me, when I stepped into the ring with Minion a week ago. It was like getting back on a bicycle. Difference being. I'm not stepping into the ring at a 6'5", 275lbs. Since my time off. I've taken care of my body more. Dropping weight to build on my speed and cardio. Now I'm at around a healthy 252lbs. I'm eating better. Cutting back on the brewski's a little bit. In the ring, I've never felt better performing in front of the crowd in years.
I:W.com "Do you believe wrestlers of I:W's past have felt the same way?
Genesis: "I believe so. You see guys like Sylas Styles and Scott "Maniac' Manor stepping back into the ring. After they stepped away from the business for a little while. Manor left a year ago, and disappeared. Sylas was forced to retire as I was. Deep down, while I can't speak for those guys or anyone else that has resurfaced recently in the company. I think we all truly thought it was over for good. Maybe we wanted it to be over. But there was always that drive to suck you back in, ya know? Whether it'd be revenge for fallen loved ones? Or just back to have a good time? Or as in my case. I've come back to set the record straight. Prove the world why Genesis was, and WILL dominate once again in this company. I think wrestlers, fans, and the IWC have lost sight of that. So I'm back on a mission to prove my doubters wrong. That when you step into the ring with Genesis. Whether on the microphone in a verbal battle or in a match. You're gonna get the best performer in this industry, bar none!
I:W.com "Can you tell us a little about your personal issues? Its well documented that you're 'controversial', not just inside the ring. But also outside of it. From your views on Twitter to your outbursts on Facebook. To lashing out at the company and its CEO, Chris Lionheart. How are you dealing with your anger and emotional problems?
Genesis: "I think its like if you're an alcoholic or a drug addict. You take things one day at a time. You'll have your good days. You'll have some
It's this same disorder that caused my walk outs and bitter feuds with fellow wrestlers, promoters. To sum everything up for you guys in a nutshell. Over the years of letting all this success that I've gained. I let everything go to my head. I lost who I was."
I:W.com "When you say that last sentence: "I lost who I was". Do you mean on a professional level? Personally?"
Genesis: "Both. Professionally, I'll admit. When I get in that squared circle. I'm the biggest prick in this business. I push buttons. I piss alot of people off. I often coin myself the "Puppet Master" for a reason. When I get out their on the microphone. I pull the strings. I make you cry. I make you laugh. I make you angry. I make you happy. I make you feel all kinds of different emotions. If their is anything I've been able to do right in seven years. Its being able to connect with the fans, and the wrestlers.
Personally? I'm a bit more laid back. Kinder, Gentler. I treat people the way I'd like to be treated. That doesn't mean that I'm gonna let someone act like an asshole around me. Which has happened on more than a few occasions. When it does? I go into full blown 'Genesis' mode as quick as you can flip a light switch. It's very easy for me to go from one state of mind to another.
Wise man once said many years ago. "The best characters played, are those that you can relate with." So who better to play then an extension of yourself? Take one 'side' of your personality. Amp that
I:W.com "How do you welcome the wrestlers who feel that you're back to steal their thunder? Double S has been very vocal lately about your return. Any thoughts?
Genesis: "I think Double S loves to talk a big game when no one's around to defend themselves if you want my opinion. He beat me in one match. Sent me packin' back at Rise to Stardom. Which automatically boosted both his ego, and his character ten fold. For a while there. He was on the right track to the top. Held the World Class Championship for a good number of months. Then once he met somebody he couldn't handle (Kratos). His train got derailed. He left for a cup of coffee. Came back to a drastically different I:W than what he left. Now he feels threatned and he's in defense mode. Placing blame on guys like me that we're back to "take our spots", and screw him over. When first of all. If it wasn't for guys like me. YOU wouldn't have a job. Secondly, who's the guy that put your ass over to get you in this position?
Now, lets look at things this way. If the situation was the other way around. Had I beat Double S at Rise to Stardom? Where would Double S be right now? Certainly not at the level he's riding high in right now. Not saying that to boost myself up. I'll go on record in saying that I was happy he got the success he's earned. But for
But ya know what? It is what it is. I'm not here to please the masses. Never have been. I'm here to create my own happiness. I'm here to earn back what was 'once' my own. I don't care who stands in my way. If you're in my cross hairs. I won't hesitate to shoot you between the eyes.
I:W.com "Any final comments Genesis?
Genesis: "I'm gonna take this company by storm. Rebuild my legacy brick by brick with the names of the fallen. My first championship goal is the one that the 'unstoppable' Kratos is holding. So "Big" man? One day very soon. I'm coming to take that belt off your shoulders. You might be big. You might be tough. You may seem to be unstoppable in the ring. But when we lock horns. I'm not going down without a fight. Win/Lose/Draw, does not matter. I will be your greatest test to date. Now's the time to see if you pass it, or become just another brick in my wall...
I:W.com "Thanks for your time, Genesis.
Genesis: "Anytime..
