After making a surprise appearance on the Mexican Tour, Scott “Maniac” Manor sat down with I:W.com for an interview, revealing his thoughts on the current state of I:W and what he’s been up to.
I:W.com : First thing’s first, the fans are wondering if your appearance might lead to an actual in-ring return?
Scott Manor: *chuckles* That’s always the first question everyone asks. Can’t I show up just because I happened to be in the area on vacation? But no, I’m not looking for an in ring return. I had my time and it was fun while it lasted, but in the end I’ve moved on to other hobbies.
I:W.com: Interesting. Having been at the Mexican PPV, what do you think about I:W’s current state and the talent on the roster?
Scott Manor: Overall, I think it’s a great thing they’ve got going. Take for example the Amazons. I love looking at a sexy woman as much as the next guy, ‘til the wife slaps me upside the head. But, it felt like for a while, we had an overabundance of the “model” as dirt sheets like to call them. It’s like how in 06 and 07 we had hardcore “extreme” wrestlers all over the place. While there was great talent at the time, it’s still a nice change to watch not just the "models", but different types mixing it up like Ashley and Trinity did in that tables match.
Nothing against Misty, Kiss, and the others cause they were great talents, but it’s hard to argue against being more diverse. And it’s always better for the person themselves when they’re able to carve out their own little niche.
I:W.com: What about Graves and Nightmare. Any thoughts on their series at the PPV?
Scott Manor: When I first heard about this, I was honestly thinking there’s no way they can do this. I put my body through hell, but I don’t think I could do that. So my hats off to them for that. That’s just hell to put their body through, and I hope it doesn’t bite them in the ass later. But for now, just wow.
I:W.com: When you made your appearance, it seemed like you targeted Sentoryu. It seemed to come from nowhere, to some possibly unprofessional. Was there a specific reason for saying that in front of the audience or was it a case of just spur of the moment like you’re known for?
Scott Manor: Looking back that short little bit ago, maybe it was a little unprofessional to do it in front of the audience, but it was one of those things that just pops in your head and before you know it’s out the mouth. Would I take it back? Eh that’s a little harder to answer.
I:W.com: Well I gotta ask just one more time. In-ring return? You’ve still got plenty of opponents the I:W crowd hasn’t seen you face.
Scott Manor: Maybe if I have the urge to sleep on my couch instead of my bed *laughs*
I:W.com: Well we wish you good luck with your plans and still hope to see you back here soon.
