As we can see here even though the red maple leaf is covered by the grey one there is still a red blur around the crotch blur area. This was solved by taking an eraser to the grey maple leaf in PT and literally making it just an outline.
Then I decided the CAW would look better with red on the inside, and a grey outline. And that opened up a whole new world of problems. I am using what i call the CMPunk-ish underwear (yellow crotch/black everywhere else), as this is the only pair of underwear in the game which lets you put a different color where the crotchblur is, without trying to put designs all around the rest of the underwear, which leaves an obnoxiously big 'ass blur'. The problem with using the CMPunk-ish underwear, is that it doesn't use the full amount of light and dark that other underwear uses. So at it's brightest settings, the red part of the crotch is still considerably darker than what other underwear can be; and we all know that Paint Tool has issues doing dark shades without them also looking washed-out.
Attempts to use designs on the CAW to rectify the issues failed, as right underneath the crotch is a 'seam' where the CAW textures meet. So designs start to creep down the leg in two sharp points...
I found a way around it though. I imported the Union Jack flag into PT and erased it so that it was a square of red. Then I set about importing that red square a great many times, pasting over the top of my red maple leaf design. For some unknown reason, when attempting to use the 'dropper' fill tool on this darker shade of red PT would just copy the same red that it normally produces, despite the two being visibly different:
Happy to announce that the CAW does look correct now (thank god!) But this would have been much easier if Paint Tool simply had the same color/shade sliders as CAW Mode does.
I will be uploading this red to C.C. soon for others to use.
