1) Are today's I.T. classes being taught by incompetants? I was helping my sister do some I.T. homework the other day, she's in Year 8, and she spent most of the time in awe that I could copy and paste text without taking my fingers off the keyboard, or selecting everything/going to the top and bottom of the page/document without touching the verticle scrollbar.
2) In 2012, is it unacceptable if people in the workplace can't use a computer? Computers have been part of day-to-day life for a long time - I'd say that whilst Windows 3.1 was new tech, since at least Windows 95 computers have been 'mainstream', so it's already been upwards of 10/15 years, and maybe the problem lies with staff unwilling to learn, rather than the new set of skills needed. I bet the same level of tolerance wouldn't be afforded to younger people who can't master the older way of doing things. In fact it definitely isn't, young people are always being forced to learn crappy archaic ways of doing stuff. "Sorry, I can't use a pen" wouldn't go down very well. Even though it has the same level of necessity in the workplace - is it time to stop being tolerant of people who can't learn?

Yeah in this day & age you should have basic knowledge of a PC and how to use simple programs on it.
All the workplaces that use computers should train their upper staff on how to use updated programs and make it a requirement to pass it along to everyone, not that hard to help them out.. No place shouldn't hire nor fire anyone because they are not up to par, that's just totally fucked up
Yeah there are some real idiots teaching classes nowadays, I think they are hiring these numbnuts that are photoshopping their degrees and not doing proper background checks to see if said degree is legit lol
