This is war by Ill Nino plays as Brent Starr walks out from the back, carrying his two title belts with him, as he makes a long, slow and methodical walk to the ring.
The fans on both sides of the ramp slapping him on the back in signs of respect for all that he had done in Canada.
He climbs the steps, and enters the ring where a referee was already awaiting, with a mic.
He begins to speak, but the fans haven't quieted down yet, so he takes his time, and lets the noise die down before continuing.
Tonight, here in the country where I got my official wrestling training. My official wrestling start. My official first.. let's call it "Shut up and start losing" contract in a company. Ya, I'm going there straight away. I'm going to talk about some things the big wig company owners out there don't want you to hear, or know about. I'm going to bring things full circle, and hope that I can start something that spreads throughout this business, and perhaps open peoples eyes to the bullshit that is going on behind the scenes, outright effecting what goes on in this ring.
For years, people cried out favoritism when it came to me, and my close personal friend, Sylas Styles. They cried that because we were too damn good, and winning matches we shouldn't, that someone was obviously paying guys off, or pulling some strings to get us some wins. I'll be upfront and honest with you, it was favortism, but not how you think. See, I got my start working for LXW, under a masked lunatic and his "regime" of cronie man-handlers. I started slow, working some multiple opponent matches. I helped set the tone for what the company was all about. A new wave of new talent, coming into the spotlight and bringing media attention to the company that it wasn't quite getting yet. I wouldn't win those matches at first. I would always be the one at the end, taking the final fall, giving me the "underdog you want to cheer for" card to play. It worked, it worked well. People would approach me and say "Kid, you got some good talent in you. You need to focus it in the right way". So I went to the creative department, and told them they needed to capitalize, and strike while the iron was hot. Do you know what they said to me? "We're sorry Brent. We've got plenty of big name guys here who deserve that chance more then you. Your just a green rookie. Get some ring time in, and come back later.". Alright, fine, I understand that. What they did to me then, was partner me up with a guy who couldn't handle being on his own either. They figured they would pair us up, see us lose, but also help establish the tag division. The Superstarrs were born. Shawn Hollywood hooked his wagon up to me, and we rode that shit out til he disappeared like they wanted him to. Anything to keep a "green" guy like me away from gold right? I can deal with that, especially since we never got fair shake at those tag titles either.
Thing is, that LXW was about the young talent right? Sireena Styles was there, and she was getting BIG time recognition for her talent. We worked out together all the time. Suddenly she goes "missing", and the blame gets put on me. All because I was there with her almost all the time. We were good friends, how could we not be friends, seeing as I was training with her brother. Then all of a sudden, things got real fishy for me. All this attention is on me, and what do they do to capitalize? NOTHING! I had to go out, and start my own shit, and FORCE them to use me. I did what I wasn't supposed to, I got OVER. I answered the call to send Jonny Pyro a message, and collected the bounty on his head. My reward, the slamGOD title match I yearned for. I went toe, to toe, with Dragon. A guy who admired Sylas so damn much, he even used the same finisher named after him.
I wasn't supposed to win that either, but I did. I won the belt I hold here still, and some say I went off the deep end. That I let it get to my head. Felt I was above where I was actually on the food chain. You'd all know if we could find that footage, but it's non existant apparently. Erased, just like the rest of my first two years of my career. Why? Because they don't want people to know how I steamrolled...
He stops, and you can see he is getting pissed off as he corrects himself
Nnnooo scratch that, I PWNDOZED through every little piece of shit they put in front of me. I called them all out, I beat them all as they came. The big names hid, they ignored, and they lost what little respect I HAD, for them. Don't get me wrong, oh no don't you dare misinterpret this as whining, or complaining. No, this isn't your average run of the day complaint. This is shedding a light on some bullshit you all don't know about. You common, new fans to the table, you only see your favorites. You don't see the guys like me, who plug away, and deal with the plates of shit we're handed and fed.
Do you think it's coincidence, that last year, I got 1 title shot? ONE! I'm a household name, one that you can attach to anything, and I bring in ratings, buy rates, money, and give you matches everyone wants to see. I'm not your "legends" so you pass me off as just an attraction. I'm just the monkeys at the zoo. I'm the one everyone stops and watches, cause I'm enter-fucking-taining. I give you the whole damn show, in one match. Did this company get behind me? No, they got behind a soccer player. Where is he now? Sitting on the sidelines, doing nothing, because he can't hang in this world. So this place loses any momentum it had. Jason, Sylas, Avenger and I. We walk away from this company and what happens? Ratings go down, buy rates go down. People stop paying attention to this place, because they are force fed these bullshit characters. A soccer player, a movie star, a clown, and three japanese superstars. God bless them, they have all the talent in the world, and they give this place some credibility. I think to myself, why not toss myself into their stuff, get me some spotlight with them and reacquaint the fans with what I capable of doing night in, and night out. So, I team with Shia, to take on Sentoryu and Dice K. I think, yes, this will put me back into the title picture. They can't ignore me if I'm taking it to their stars.
WRONG, WRONG, WRONG! I became a pawn used to get a match over instead. Double S gets the credit, and he remains undefeated for the year. Funny thing, isn't it. They use the guy who put undefeated streak on the map, to further establish him instead. That was the last straw, for I:W, it was the very last straw. My friend gave it to me straight, and opened these eyes to all the wrongs being done to me. So, it's time to take the gloves off, and actually fight like I mean it again. I don't have a piss poor talent head telling me to lose, or put this guy over, hand the torch off to this guy, or "take it easy on them".
Things are about to get VERY REAL around here, and if that requires exposing every place in this universe, so be it. I've got no ill will burning those bridges, pissing those people off, and showing their true colors.
The fans start chanting
SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT
No, this is no shoot. This is me telling it how it is. About how no other company wants to work together with eachother. They want to hog the glory all to themselves. Feeling they are the only ones that matter. Their stars have no place lowering themselves to working with other companies. Well, assholes, I've been working here, and Pro Wrestling Neo for the last two years. I guess I'm the only MAN with BALLS enough to go wherever it takes to compete with the best of the best. I stay here, and I fight the best this place has to offer. I go to PWN and I fight the best they have to offer. I'll go to URWL, SCW, BPW, RCWF, ECWL, CPW, and even to WWA and fight there too. The reality of it all, is those companies are afraid to see their pockets take a hit, and let them all come together, under one roof, and let the best of the best fight it out, week in, and week out. Fuck the ratings wars, the competition between companies, and there being several places to push the envelope for some global company reaping in the rewards that are due to the guys who bust their asses off to try to establish themselves.
I can only face the same guys so much before I get bored. I can only win so many matches against the same people before I just want to pack it in, and call it a career. We are being robbed of matches everyone wants to see. BIG MONEY MATCHES! We could have seen Sylas Styles & Evan Fate, teaming for the world to see, against The Bruzas, or Future Shock, or CMI. We could have been seeing Dru Nedermyer vs DarkMan X in a big man war. We could have seen Ashley Diamond vs Veronica Valentine vs Syren. Chris Lionheart vs Jon Payne in a submissionist showdown. But no, we get these good shows, but they are spread thin. I for one, want to fight the best, so at the end of my career I can say to myself that I fought the best, and win or lose, at least I held my own. Until these owners come together, work together, and put differences aside, nobody in this industry can call themselves the best, the elite, the franchise, the legend, the standard, or anything worth repeating, because they have only fought a fraction of the talent they could be facing. Not until we come together!
A HUGE Come Together chant echoes for 30 seconds before he can finally speak again
I'm starting over. Bringing myself full circle, and starting over. So tonight, I want five other men to come out here. I want five of this companies best to come down here right now. We lower this cell above me down, and we fight, we bleed, we sweat, and we do whatever it takes to find a winner, and show the world what we can do. Maybe someone out there with a company will see us as "worthy" and actually want to come together for the greater good, and we can bring their best with ours, and fight with eachother, against eachother, under one company. I'm not saying I:W buys them out. I'm not saying I:W gets bought out. I'm saying I:W and whoever has the balls, work together to give these fans the matches they want to see, and pay top dollar to watch. There is BIG MONEY to be made from this, it's your choice if you want in, or if you want to stay on the outside and get runover by THIS MOTHER FUCKER. Because I'm not going to let up, shut up, or be stopped until I see things improve all around.
So give me the I:W five! Give me THIS COMPANIES BEST! I'm a SLAMGOD and a SLAM-MASTER! I'm going to show the world why I've had these belts for going on 6 years, and prove that I am the best man moving forward. Even if it means going to every company, on live television, or pay per view, and saying this all over again.
He drops the mic, and stands ready to fight, awaiting the I:W Five to step up to the plate, and set an example together.
The fans on both sides of the ramp slapping him on the back in signs of respect for all that he had done in Canada.
