*Gets ass KICKED by William Birkin* *Silently drops campaign difficulty down to Easy*
Games makes me start from the beginning, due to changing the difficulty. *Gets to Birkin again*
I take it you're supposed to hit the eyeball in his right shoulder? Would help if the bastard would stop waving his arm about and SPRINTING towards me! I think this is going to be a frustrating game to play. Now if this was back in the PS2 generation of games, my brother could hop onto local co-op and give me a hand, but nooo.
*Tries yet another new playthrough, as public so that people can drop into the game* *no one does*
Well... 'that's it'. Had enough of dying, replaying up to the last bit, and dying again.
The rest of the game when I was fighting soldiers (and have seen later gameplay footage of zombies, bio weapons etc.) seems fun enough, but the scripted event boss battles such as Birkin and any that follow a simillar formula are complete ass. I'm playing on Easy mode and I still can't get past Birkin. My A.I. teammates pretty much just stand there whilst I try to aim for the eyeball, not shooting themselves at all.
RE:ORC = Good concept, poor execution. I'll just stick with RE mods for Left 4 Dead 2 instead.

'NOW' I get it. You get to the end of the hallway, press A on the door to start a door release timer. I hadn't been doing that, because when you get to the end of the hallway a notification shows up, just saying to hold off Birkin. You're not supposed to get to the end of the corridor, take some lumps off Birkin when he reaches you, frantically turn around to try the door in vein (thus starting the timer), and obviously dying before it finishes and the door opens.
Then of course you just run to the end of the next corridor and the video automatically kicks in. Jesus Christ I've been stuck on Birkin for half a day.
Well, now that I'm past Birkin's dumb boss fight I'm through-roughly enjoying the game again. Just completed the second campaign level, City Hall, by clearing out a Licker Nest whilst City Hall goes up in flames.
