The basic concept is kinda hard to explain, but I'll do my best.
It's a show based on every fairytale you've ever heard. There are "two worlds". The real world, and the fairy tale world. In the fairy tale world, the evil queen/witch from Snow White has cast a curse on their world because Snow White was marrying Prince Charming. They were having a baby, and that baby was supposed to be able to break the curse.
The curse, was putting everyone into the real world, inhabiting a town called "Story Brooke". All these people have no idea of their prior lives, they just go about their everyday life without ever questioning how they got to know eachother, or leaving the town. Apparently they can't ever leave the town. The Queen/Witch is the Mayor of the town, and had adopted a boy, who just happens to be the son of the "snow white baby". The boy somehow has this book, which was given to him by his teacher/snow white, which tells all the stories, complete with pictures to look like the towns people. He somehow tracks down his mom, who is a bounty hunter/bail bondsmen, brings her to the town, and they go about trying to bring about peace, cure the curse, and shenanigans ensue.
The show basicly mixes up the real/fairy world within the hour long episodes, introducing the characters, and their counterparts, and brings about some climatic scenes. For instance, the snow white baby/mother is hired as a deputy sheriff. The actual sheriff is sleeping with the mayor/queen/witch. The Sheriff begins falling for her instead, so the witch kills him. This brings on a town vote for new sheriff, and you guessed it, she gets voted in.
It's a simple concept, and covers alot of ground combining all the characters and stories together.

I really don't watch much TV anymore. TV has kinda sucked since the 90's went away for me. I think the only other show I ever watched, or got into was "Beyond Scared Straight" on A&E awhile back. Aside from that show. I just stick to my old 90's sitcoms. That, and when you got Netflix and YouTube at your disposal. Not much reason to watch TV shows anymore haha.
