It's backstage. Standing in front of a monitor is a young man. He has long, brown hair, and is wearing a plain black T-shirt and jeans, but his smile is his most striking feature tonight.
This man was Kyle Nobbs. And he was finally back.
His good friend Chris Lionheart had invited him to come out for the Aggression Pay Per View. It had been far too long since Kyle had been backstage at any wrestling show. Oh damn, had he missed this. The atmosphere, hearing the thousands of fans in attendance, seeing the faces of the other wrestlers as they talked to each other about their matches and their plans for the future. This is what he lived for, and now he finally remembered it. And in that exact moment in time, he made up his mind.
Kyle turns around to leave, but stops short, and grins again. He extends his hand to a person off camera.
"Oh hey, I was just looking for you, actually. I've finally decided. I'm in."

The camera pans out to reveal Chris Lionheart. Good to hear, glad to hear it. It's funny really, in a way I'm returning after a year away. Certain circumstances have put us both here and now; when most of the legendary names like Avenger, Sylas Styles and Genesis were retired from their in-ring careers at last year's Rise To Stardom 3 event. How are you liking how things have changed? You know your old BWU Continental title is included in the long title history of the I:W Gladiator title, right?

"You know, I actually didn't know that. But I guess what with TNB buying LXW back in the day, that would make sense.
But if you'll let me change the subject right quick, I heard you mention Genesis. And... I'm kinda surprised that you don't seem worried by what happened earlier. What do you think about his challenge? Why do you think he wants control of Innovation Wrestling, and what do you plan on doing about it?"

Lionheart looks puzzled.
I'm going to end-up sounding like a broken record, repeating the same song all year long. Fact is I've tried both management styles. I've been people's buddy. I've been 'corporate' about things and handed out fines and suspensions. Either way, I get called-out for being in the spotlight too much and holding others down. So then I've tried a hands-off approach and left the company in the hands of people I had hoped would be able to run the asylum and not let inmates like Genesis intimidate them. And I get called-out for being too trusting, or that I am running away from fighting the inmates... Basically I can't win in other people's eyes, no matter what I do.
I see Genesis wants control of Innovation:Wrestling, but I doubt he has what it takes to deal with the daily grind of managing the company and micro-managing all the wrestlers and their egos on top. But if he wanted to have an opportunity to do just that, he'd have to do something to show that he could handle it. I'm not just going to hand off the company to someone based on the result of a theoretical match, or fight, which may never happen.
I worked a long time from 2006-2010 to bring myself and my career back up to the level it once was, following the incident in Ohio. And when I reached that level once again and went above it, and then was retired in the middle of the ring by Ryan Blaze at Rise To Stardom 2, I felt like there was nothing more for me to do in a physical sense. So there's not really much for me to think about in regards to his challenge...
