Is it beating the final boss, getting all the achievements, or just getting bored with it?
I find I have a lot of friends this generation who even if they don't like they game, will play until they've gotten the majority/all of the achievements just to feel like they received their moneys worth. Past generations, this NEVER came into play. I usually feel "done" with a game when I feel like I'm no longer enjoying it, regardless if I've rented it, bought it, or borrowed it.

When the next game in the series comes out (Svr11 - WWE12) or when another game I want really bad comes out, and I don't enjoy playing a game too much anymore (I.E. selling CoD4 & UFC Undisputed 09 to buy Fable 3)

I try to get my moneys worth by unlocking everything, doing the achievements, and just running it into the ground til I'm bored of it. I keep all my old games, unless they were complete borefests, then I'll trade in for something intriguing. I always go back to games later on when I need something different from my constant plays.
I still go back and try to beat Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 on the hardest difficulty. I've been stuck on one damn level for months. Not that I can't beat it, it's just near impossible since you run out of health regen stuff, and even when you block, and have a self healer (deadpool/wolverine) you still take damage, and if they are your last character alive... good luck, cause you sit there blocking for an hour to get your health back, only to lose it right back trying to fight more.
