Both of these rules are outlined as such to minimalize the potential for drama, whilst still allowing creative freedom to talk about them under the following circumstances - rather than out-right banning the mention of them and having TNB compete in it's own isolated bubble.
Discussing other current efeds:
Discussing other current efeds in TNB is still allowed In Character, as long as they are not simply name-dropped. The usual substitution of the city in place of the efed name will work (Atlanta, Georgia = TNB, for example). A rekindled feud between two characters which might also be taking place elsewhere may be used to initiate a feud in TNB so that they can cross-company feud, but the TNB feud would have to evolve in some way, so that it generates it's own focal point, rather than elsewhere remaining the 'only' reason the two people are feuding.
If another efed has to be referenced IC then at least let it have some substance. Random name-dropping or dragging another efed through the mud - or using it by comparison to drag TNB through the mud in a ''shoot style'' promo is not allowed. However if a character is switching face/heel alignment and is saying something like ''my phone is ringing off the hook, everybody wants me because I'm a star' then it is acceptable.
Discussing old efeds/previous TNB years:
Discussing old efeds/previous TNB years is still allowed In Character, under the usual conditions that it provides initial additional history to back-up a current TNB feud but isn't the sole focus of the feud. Random name-dropping, or dragging an old efed through the mud "In Character" is not allowed.
If you want to discuss other efeds past and present Out Of Character, as well as previous years of TNB, please do so in the Efeds board. This is the only place this is permitted, to stop other discussions going off topic quickly.

Note: Madi$on's promo at TNB AllStars PPV 2011 (located here) illustrates the differences quite well. In general this RP is perfectly fine, I certainly don't have a problem with it. To me, it illustrates the character's tweener turn and new attitude as TNB Amazons champin, after having been a face since her debut. The only problem that is wrong with it is that it directly mentions other efeds by name, which isn't something that wrestling companies would do. They would allude-to and half-reference their competitors instead ('bingo hall/Philadelphia' = ecw, 'down south/Atlanta' = wcw, 'up north/New York' = wwf).
