With only a few weeks leading into the biggest Pay-Per-View of the year for TNB. Rumors began to swirl about the future of Brandon 'Genesis' Payne.
Payne has been in/out of the company a few times already. Not exactly on the best of notes on those previous departures. However, to his credit. Payne has lived up to his word. He has stuck by the company since he had came back. Never had any bad words, or anything of the sort with management. Quite frankly? He's been a class act all the way.
However, given the unstable nature of the organization. Along with heading into the biggest night in TNB's history. Facing his greatest adversary ever, The Avenger. Payne felt his career within' TNB has come 'full circle' in a sense. As far as he, and his relationship within' TNB is concerned.
Payne released an official statement to set the record straight once & for all.
In an era. Where the 'cool' thing to do nowadays is to shoot in promo's instead of developing a character that is real, and relevant. With absolutely no axes to grind, or bitterness towards this once great organization. For the best intrest of my character. Immeadiately following my contractual commitments to compete at Night of Legends II. I'm officially taking my leave from the company once & for all. Due to the unstable nature of the organization, and a lack of direction.
As my final days within' TNB are approaching. I'd like to take this time to thank Chris Lionheart. For allowing me to come back for one final run with a place that, in many ways, will always be 'home sweet home'. While things may not have ended how I'd like them to. Sometimes, you just have to go your own way, and do what you have to do in order to be happy & successful.
All I ask is not to be hassled, or told that i have to change my mind. I've given this alot of thought. No Brett Favre acts whatsoever coming up either. This is it. Once this PPV is up. You'll never, ever see Brandon Payne and/or 'Genesis' in a TNB Wrestling ring again.
Thank you guys for being there at my side. Looking forward to seeing everyone for the PPV. Lets make this a memorable event, shall we?
