The Avenger, and his manager Christian MoneyMaker, suffered a LOT of abuse towards the end of 2009 thanks to TNB President Chris Lionheart. Lionheart says he was obsessed with bringing back the passion for wrestling in The Avenger.
Others think that Lionheart was trying to find the spark to reignite his own carreer, after plans to be an in-ring wrestler upon TNB's ressurrection in 2009 fell through when Brandon 'Genesis' Payne broke his neck the first night back, and Lionheart made things worse by refusing to stop training until, in his next match with Sylas Styles, he was put on the shelf indeffinately!
Whichever side is true, the fact reamins that towards the end of 2009 Lionheart returned in an out-of-ring authority figure capacity, and proceeded to taunt The Avenger, finally goading him into bringing back the one one prize that had always alluded Lionheart himself - the TNB Undisputed Title. Was all the taunting a master plan by Lionheart to avenge his loss to Avenger in the final Undisputed Title match, back when the first time TNB went on hiatus?
For now The Avenger has walked away from wrestling, having brought back the original TNB Undisputed title and losing it at Night Of Legends 1. But the rumors and speculation still persist. Especially in this turbulant time in The New Blood wrestling. While we wait to find out on that, allow us to ponder a thought... Even though he his now physically healthy and mentally stable, is there still a dark side lurking underneath the surface of Chris Lionheart?
