TNB announcer Kazu Tagahashi & TNBWRESTLING.COM caught up with former Amazon champion Kimber Davenport. The announcer wanted to get a few opinions on the woman who surprised everyone and won the belt just one month ago. After her loss to one of the women in TNB who she calls a friend we wanted to sit down with her and see where her head was.
Kazu- How are you doing today Kimber? Nice to meet you in person.
Nice to meet you too Kazu. Can’t believe there’s still people here I don’t know yet. *laughs* But I been a busy girl the past month, so what are ya’ gonna do ya know?
Kazu: Right. Well, are you ready to get started?
Sure, why not.
Kazu: O.K. Question #1. And we’re gonna go kinda quick here so let’s see how fast you can get us those answers.
Alright.
Kazu: Coming into the company you were a manager. Even a former “suicide girl” as they call them. What or who was your inspiration behind the decision to get into the business and wrestle and not manage anymore?
Well, I think its because I have always been a good athlete. I played softball & soccer as a teenager. Even played some football with my brother sometimes. So I was a big tomboy at first. Coming in the business I saw what was going on out there in the ring and wanted to see what it felt like. The rest is history.
Kazu: Alright Question #2. What’s been the best thing about coming to TNB to wrestle for on a personal level? Is It the traveling? The money or something else?
Hmm. I guess I have to say it’s the traveling. We get to go all over the world and see how much the fans love the shows we put on. It’s so amazing and fun to go out and see all of these people who love you for doing something you love. I don’t think anything in the world is like it. And I’ve made a lot of friends since coming here too.
Kazu: Speaking of. Question #3. One of your friends Madi$on was the woman to take that Amazon title off of you just a few days ago. Being so close to her how did it effect you losing to her and not one of the MMInc. Ladies or someone else out there on the roster?
Well, at first it didn’t effect me at all. It was all good. I knew there was a good chance I’d lose. She’s better in ring than most on the roster. I’m shocked I lasted as long as I did. But later on, some things came to light that kind of made me re think things. I can’t lie about that. So right now I don’t know how I feel about that. Not really sure I know how I feel about Ashley & Harlequin’s involvement either. When I get to the bottom of it I’ll let you know.
Kazu: Oh my. O.K. then. Question # 4 then. There have been a lot of great women to compete here in TNB over the years. All over the world really. Who are some who you like to watch or did like to watch when they wrestled? Who inspired you I guess I want to say.
A lot of people. I can go on for days. Kenshia Rei Shin more than anybody else. Zoey Starr is another favorite. Elizabeth Knight too. Megan Van Horn. Kim Hunter before she was with Money Maker Inc. So many people really. Yuriko Nakane. Chloe Lockhart. Sarah Andrews. Alex Bannon. Terra. Sarah Warfield. Tiffany Valesquez. A lot of people who wrestle over in Japan honestly. The stuff they can do I can’t not yet anyway but I love to watch them. So many people. I bet I can name like 100 of them if I kept on.
Kazu: I see you have a lot of influences. That’s good though. Good to borrow stuff from the great ones so you should be ok Kimber.
I hope so.
Kazu: Alright, the last one and Question # 5. What do you want to accomplish here in TNB and your career altogether? When it’s all over and the shows are gone and the crazy schedule ends, what do you want to be able to say about yourself and your time wrestling?
Well, mostly that I did what I could do. I never gave up and I didn’t fall victim to what a lot of people fall to in wrestling. Power and money. It’s not about that. As long as you can feed your family then everything should be fine. Don’t be greedy. I believe in that. I wanna give the fans a show when I go out there. I got a lot to learn yeah but I’m gonna learn it and I can promise you that. I’m just getting started up.”
Kazu: Good to hear Kimber. Thanks for being here with us.
Thank you. It was kinda fun really. *laughs*
The screen goes to black after the interview.
