Slightly different from the "Storylines you planned but never made public...
" thread, I thought it would be interesting for people to share storylines or feuds or bits of character development which they started to use, explain why it ended not happening, and how it was planned to end back then. Maybe even elaborate on how it could be modernized and brought into TNB too.
One storyline I never really got to read about, and I beleive was cut off at the knees at some point, was The Bloodworks. Gimme dat info!
Chris Lionheart - Genetic Scientist, Tommy Rosario & The Nitemare Project
Dotted around my 2009 RPs you might see references to Lionheart having a lot of money, or his 'real' business Lion Enterprises. I was finally planning on making a good-go of an idea that hadn't worked out previously and I'd since then shopped around to a lot of people throughout the efed years, and I think somewhere actually used a variation on this idea when I wasn't around. I know for a fact it was in early 2007 when I remember attempting it with Rock Stone as bodyguard for the staff in either TNB or NEW, but I'm sure it had been planned and even tried long before that.
Basically LH would have private funding and would conduct biological/genealogical experiments on jobbers, turning them into unstoppable killing machines in the ring, almost like super soldiers or his own private police squad. If wrestlers crossed him, they got put against one of these people, and if the A.I. did their part, they got slaughtered, leading to the year-end culmination of the wrestlers rising up and overthrowing Lionheart for his tyranny. The 2009 spin on this was to have "The Nitemare Project" (2008 NEW Jobber Sean Skyfire) abduct Sabrina Lockheart and start a feud with Genesis, but this never came off because around Royal Bash two months into TNB's second era, Gen left. Although there was also plans to bring TNP back once Tommy Rosario came on the scene, T.R. was doing so well for himself (even winning the TNB Gladiators title) and his RPs were as good as I'd ever seen or the best, that I didn't want to pull T.R. down to what would have essentially been a Nitemare vs ''The Nitemare Project'' feud similar, but more twisted than Kane vs Imposter Kane in real life 2006. When I say more twisted, I'm talking that this "Nitemare vs Nitemare" feud would have incorporated some psychological trauma the likes of SPLATTERHOUSE!
Chris Lionheart - 2010 - "Your" Lord Of The Ring
In thinking up different ideas on how I could bring LH back to being where he once was, I played out a few different scenarios in my head. One idea I had which ultimately didn't happen, was to bring LH back to active wrestling as an ego-maniacal heel. With his 'Legend' status he'd return decked out in gold, acting above most of the roster and wearing the 2006 VWE Lord Of The Ring on his left hand as a symbol of his greatness. At the time I was planning to transition his quest for the TNB Undisputed Title over to the TNB Legends title in 2010 (thus leaving the Undisputed Title open for others to go after to quell drama over self-promotion or whatever), but then we all voted for the Legends title to be retconned into a trophy instead (which in retrospect was the better choice).
The thing that just ruined this idea for me, made me keep LH face, and re-debut him in the ring in a different way, was of course ABYSSS-A-MAINIA and the HOF ring that TNA started doing. I'm 'still' waiting for Abyss to snap and turn heel or something like that.
Sean Starr/Shawn Hawk II
Shawn Hawk began as a masked personality for Shawn Youngblood, but the CAW was nothing more than an attire change at first. It was a way to write Shawn Youngblood out of wrestling (or at least USA Wrestling), and to show the split between he and Jason by Shawn adapting a new in-ring name.
Later on I thought I would try to do a non-talking masked wrestler to see how far I could go with such a premise before having to unmask him (it didn't last very long). This was to be a tribute persona to Shawn Hawk, and when I unmasked him and he 'wasn't' Shawn Youngblood I'd have a semi-built up new character to run with instead. Later, I made the new wrestler behind the Shawn Hawk Tribute mask into Shawn Starr, brother of Shayne Starr (the former imposter Shayne Pain from years ago), who'd since married Shawn Youngblood to become Shayne Youngblood, thus making Shawn Starr into Shawn Youngblood's brother-in-law - and ready to debut as himself or indeed become Shawn Hawk II very soon, to avenge Youngblood's attack a the hands of Brendan Maslow, and take TNB's A1 division by storm.
