Crimes & Punishment
Using Controversial Characters:
If you are thinking of bringing in a character that might be deemed controversial, a simple post asking if any members would be offended will give you your desired answer. From there you can decide to bring in the character, or to bring in a different one if the response is negative.
"In Character" Roleplays vs "Out Of Character" Roleplays:
Unless something has been said In Character, don't use anything said Out Of Character and not IC as source material for a role-play. With that provision in place... anything said In Character should be taken as In Character, something to build a feud between characters, and nothing more. Any Out Of Character grievances between handlers should be sorted out away from the boards over MSN or Email, and not cross over into the efed. End Of Story. TNB wants no drama in 2011, continuing the improvements we saw in 2010 over 2009.
Zero Tolerance on Drama & Warnings:
- It's now official. There is now a ZERO Tolerance on out of character drama in TNB. Keep that stuff confined to Emails/MSN, and away from the boards.
- If things still cannot be resolved after talking to each other on Emails/MSN, members can actually 'report' offending posts, by clicking the link in the lower-right side of the post. This immediately brings it to staff's attention so that we can do something about it. What will we do about it?
- The warnings system is back. It was 3 strikes and you're out. But I'm automatically taking it that from now on members will try to sort out the problem initially between themselves away from the board, like they should be doing (Strike 1). Having a further offending message actually being reported because problems haven't stopped is the next step. (Strike 2). Anything more and it's 3 Strikes/You're Out.
Attacking Characters Without Permission:
Many efed handlers do not want their characters acting out-of-kilter with their established character traits/history. Others do not appreciate their character being physically attacked. Since these characters are not your property, respect other's desires. Just send the handler a PM first to check that it is alright.
With that being said, and for the record, always feel free to talk for or attack the following TNB characters if it helps you to define your storyline/feud/character development (including men-on-women violence if required):
Abby Winchester
Bobby Williams
Brent Young
Jason Youngblood
Keith Williams
Lucy Youngblood
Micheal St. Star
Shawn Youngblood
Shayne Youngblood
