PSM3 Confirm Arkham City Multiplayer Love it or hate it, multiplayer is coming to Batman: Arkham City. Confirmed in this months issue of the popular UK magazine PSM3, they have proceeded in claiming that "Multiplayer is a certainty, but no details on this yet". This comes after a rush of rumors and discussion that Catwoman will feature as a playable co-op character and with no mention of Robin or Nightwing this is looking even more credible. Keep in mind that no details have been confirmed and we aren't 100% ruling out the possibility of VS multiplayer. This wont be Rocksteady's first attempt at multiplayer. Their Playstation 2 frantic fps shooter Urban Chaos: Riot Response also featured net play of 8 players. There is no doubt that we will be seeing a lot more info on this feature soon. I hope it's just for Challenges and stuff. Unless Catwoman literally follows Batman around the whole game, I don't even see how it'd work. And I wasn't exactly a fan of the shoddy A.I. work with Shiva and Chris in RE5. Unless, god forbid, they actually implement player against player online type stuff. Ugh!

GameSpot just posted up a new interview with Rocksteady about Arkham City that sounded really great. I haven't been following every detail about the sequel religiously, and search only came up with two details threads, so I apologize if any of the bolded features are entirely old news. Also, on the latest GTTV, Geoff Keighley heavily hinted that The Penguin is in the game. There's more at the link, but not much in terms of concrete details. UK Magazine Edge has revealed some brand new details regarding Batman: Arkham City in their latest issue. You can check out a summary the details below; - “Bane can now team up with Batman for a series of sub-missions that see the unlikely duo tracking down shipments of chemical contraband.” - “There will be entirely new gadget editions, and the latest to be unveiled is the Remote Electrical Charge (REC). A jury rigged shotgun variant at heart, it grants an instant spark-splattered knock back to foes, or far worse if they’re clad in metal armor and can be used to turn and adversaries breaking weapons of their own into unreliable allies, as they twitch and shudder after being hit.” - The REC will cause machine gun holders to spray their clip uncontrollably and works wonders on multiple enemies, especially coming in handy against Joker’s one armed thug and his crowd. - The new gadget also comes into play during puzzles. A quick blast of the REC will turn some metal objects into magnets as well as acting as a charge to redundant machinery. - There are 4 hours worth of Catwoman gameplay in the game. - A screenshot displays Catwoman with her goggles on, this is the first sign of her doing this. - The main path storyline in Arkham City is bigger than Arkham Asylum’s. This is without taking the side-quests into account. - If you fail a side-quest you’re able to return to it in a better state after upgrading your gadgets and abilities. - There are other minor mentions of Arkham City in Arkham Asylum (like Sharp's office) but Sefton Hill didn’t mention them as he “didn’t want to spoil anything.” THE REC - SO MUCH FUCKING WIN! I know Batman Beyond (or is that Batman Of The Future?) - the Red/Black suit - is a GameStop US/GAME UK pre-order exclusive, if memory serves correctly. I want that 3rd suit, Batman: The Animated Series, if that is actually real.

Batman: Arkham City supports 3D whether you have a 3DTV or not
You won't have to wait for a "Game of the Year" version to play Batman: Arkham City in 3D. When the game ships in October, it'll have two varieties of 3D support built in. The Xbox and PS3 versions will be playable in stereoscopic 3D on compatible televisions, using active-shutter glasses. The PC version will include Nvidia 3D Vision tech to support 3D output on compatible TVs or monitors, if you happen to have a GeForce GPU.
In addition, the game supports regular old anaglyph 3D when played on an HDTV with "3D glasses available for the video game." This is likely the same TriOviz tech used in Arkham Asylum. So even if you don't have a fancy 3DTV (and just a fancy HDTV), you can see some cape virtually up in your face.
